Itinerary of your cruise

This itinerary has something sure to suit everyone: partiers, nature lovers or archaeology enthusiasts... Each anchorage will uncover a new corner of paradise!

Boarding between 14:00 and 15:00 aboard the M / S Galileo at the Marina Zea (near Piraeus). You will be welcomed onboard by the staff, and cocktails! You will then navigate to Poros, a volcanic island that houses the sanctuary of Poseidon. Relax with some free time on the island (3h). The trip will continue on towards Poliegos. Dinner is on board, and navigation is through the night.

Arrive in Poliegos in the morning. The small uninhabited island is renowned for its beautiful beaches. You can cool off in the turquoise waters, before a barbecue on board. In the afternoon, sail to Folegandros, one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades, a hidden treasure of the Aegean Sea. Enjoy some free time and dinner on the island: you could climb up to the Upper Town and dine in a traditional Greek tavern!

In the morning, you will arrive at Santorini Island. Here you can explore Fira, the amazing capital of the island, perched above the caldera. There will also be an optional organised excursion to visit the archaeological excavations of Akrotiti, an ancient city with Minoan influences, and a guided discovery of several villages including Oia, famous for its exceptional sunset. Dinner on board and sleep overnight in Santorini.

Arrive at the charming bay of Antiparos at morning, where you can go for a swim. In the early afternoon, you will arrive on the island of Paros. You can enjoy some free time to explore, or partake in an excursion to visit Parikia, the island's capital. Get lost in the maze of picturesque, narrow streets lined with white houses and colourful flowers, and walk in the village of Naoussa, a small fishing port in the north that has kept all its traditional authenticity. Delight in a Greek evening. Night spent in Paros.

Morning visit (optional) to the archaeological site of Delos, the sacred island of antiquity, where the twins Apollo and Artemis were born. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the site is home to the sanctuary of Apollo; the Lions of Delos; the house of the Dolphins where you will find magnificent mosaics; and the theatre district. Lunch on board. Stop in one of the most beautiful bays of Mykonos to swim in the crystalline waters, before docking in the port of the island. Mykonos, famous for its raving nightlife, also offers many beaches and cultural spots, such as the church of Panagia Paraportiani and the district of "Little Venice", with its enchanting houses built on the shore... Night spent in Mykonos.

After a morning swim, you will arrive on the island of Syros, the capital of the Cyclades archipelago. Enjoy a free afternoon where you can explore this small island, relaxing on the sandy beaches or discovering the unique architecture of its villages during an optional tour. Night spent in Syros.

Arrival in Kythnos in the morning where you will be able to swim in Kolones Bay. Get ready to return to Marina Zea in Athens where you will arrive in the late afternoon. Passage by Cape Sounion and its temple of Poseidon. Dinner on board. Night spent at Zea Marina.

A wonderful experience with a caring and thoughtful crew in a beautiful part of the world.

The M/S Galileo was an older cruise boat with a great deal of character. The itinerary was well planned and the additional excursions were well worth the extra effort. We would certainly consider future cruises with this company.

    Ottima organizzazione

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I book my flights, accommodation and activities in addition to my cruise?

Our services are available to all clients who embark on our cruise. Our tailor-made offers are adapted to your needs and your budget.

We have created two fully customisable offers:
    - Serenity Service: Booking of your flight tickets.
    - Extension Service: Booking of your accommodation (hotel, house, villa, etc.) and/or complementary activities such as excursions, guided tours, car rental, etc.

Our dedicated advisors will be happy to assist you in your holiday planning.
  • What documents do I need in order to travel to Greece?

For european passport holders, a visa is not required for stays of less than 3 months. You should make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after the departure date.
  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • How can I arrange my transfer from the airport to the boat?

Your transfers are not included in your package. However, they can be arranged by your GlobeSailor advisor and the base chief, by taxi or minibus. Payment for this service is generally to be made to GlobeSailor at the time of payment of the balance, or directly on site in cash. Don't forget to forward your arrival times to your advisor.
  • What does a skipper do? And what about a hostess?

All the skippers which we offer are qualified, have the necessary professional licenses and speak fluent English. If you have any particular demands regarding a skipper make sure to let us know.
The skipper is in charge of navigation and your safety on board. Feel free to try out some of the manoeuvres with him; he will be happy to teach you the basics of sailing.
Regarding sleeping arrangements, the skipper will sleep on board, either in a cabin or in the common area (saloon).
The skipper is not in charge of cooking or washing up. A hostess (or cook) will prepare your meals, clean the saloon area and the cabins and make sure the boat is kept tidy.
  • How do we organise meals on board the boat?

Most of our cabin cruises include full board and the services of a hostess, a cook. Alcoholic drinks are sometimes at an extra cost. Please check the terms and conditions of your quote. Your adviser will be able to send you the menus proposed on board. They are often prepared with fresh and local products. Please inform us as soon as possible if you have any specific dietary requirements!
  • How do I book an optional excursion?

You can pre-book your chosen excursion(s) when booking your cruise. You also can book on-site, subject to availability.
  • What happens if the excursion I have booked cannot take place?

Excursions may be cancelled due to a lack of participants or changes to the itinerary. In this case, any excursion prepayment will be converted into on-board credits. These credits can then be used for alternative excursions or expenses on board (bar or laundry). These credits have no monetary value and cannot be refunded or saved for future cruises or transferred to other passengers.
  • What payments must I make in order to confirm my booking?

In order to confirm your booking, you have to inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment. The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure. The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding, either to the base or to GlobeSailor. Mandatory extras and options will be payable locally. Be sure to check this with your advisor or the base prior to departure.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?

If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
