Three Reasons to Charter a Yacht in Kos

1. Heavenly beaches

Kos is blessed with 112 kilometers of coastline! Along this impressive shoreline you will find pristine beaches and secluded coves that are postcard worthy. Dazzling white sand and turquoise waters can be seen across most, if not all its beaches. Navigate your yacht charter from one coast to the next to find exactly what your crew is in search of. Lively beach bars or secluded stretches of sand? A water sport hotspot or tranquil waters to float in? You name it, this destination has it. Some of the top beaches include:
Paradise Beach: One of the most popular beaches of the island, tourists flock here for its smooth sand and clear blue waters. It is also known as “Bubble Beach” as volcanic gases cause the water’s surface to bubble.
Lambi beach: This is the closest beach to the city center and has been awarded with a Blue Flag! It offers a wide selection of facilities and water sports to choose from.
Limnionas Beach: Located on the north side of the island, this tranquil stretch of sand is the perfect choice for sailors looking for some peace and quiet away from the crowds.
Tigaki Beach: Bask in the Mediterranean sun surrounded by spectacular scenery. This long sandy beach is ideal for those traveling with children.

2. History, history, & more history!

Calling all history buffs! A yacht charter in Kos is the place for you. The numerous ancient sites peppered across the island remain traces of its long and fascinating past. As you explore the island make sure to stop at the following must see-sights:
The Asklipeion: Wander 3 kilometers from the heart of the town and land upon this ancient healing center. Built in the 3rd century, this sanctuary was dedicated to Asklipeios, the god of medicine in ancient Greek mythology.
The Roman Odeon: This ancient amphitheater was built between the 2nd and 3rd century by the Romans. Today, it is used for cultural events and performances.
Neratzia castle: Located at the entrance of the harbor, this castle was built by the Knights of St. John to protect against attacks from the Ottomans. Dock your boat rental and take a walk along the remnants of this seaside fortress. The entrance fee is 4€ per person.
The ancient Agora: Come visit the largest archaeological site of the island and imagine what a Greek market once looked like in earlier times! Within this area you will see what is left of a temple, a basilica, and a shrine of Aphrodite.

3. Delicious dishes

After lounging in the sun all day or exploring ancient sites, you and your crew are sure to be hungry. Satisfy this hunger with some delicious local dishes. Throughout the island, you will find most restaurants serving fresh and natural products. Following a mostly Mediterranean diet, many meals include meat, seafood, vegetables, and olive oil. While on a yacht charter in Kos, make sure to try some traditional island recipes including pitarridia, katimeria, and varvara.

A Modern Marina

Start your nautical holiday through the Dodecanese islands from Kos Marina. This modern marina is located one-mile south-west from the city’s main harbor and only 20 kilometers from the airport. While docked here, sailors are offered high quality facilities and services to ensure a successful cruise. Make use of the marina’s showers, wi-fi, grocery store, restaurants, and much more. Within a few minutes’ walk, one can also easily access the city center. Since opening in 2001, it has honored yearly with the revered Blue Flag award!

Sailing Conditions

Come enjoy exceptional sailing conditions on a yacht charter in this dreamy destination! Sailors can enjoy long hot summers, mild dry winters, and plenty of sunshine all year long. From min-June to the end of September the prevailing wind is the Meltemi. During this time, expect stronger winds (at force 4-6) blowing from the NW-W. Be cautious of the shoals while navigating close to Cape Ammoglossa, one mile north of the marina.
