What could be better than a traditional gulet to explore the magnificence of an archipelago made up of 7 islands classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Located off the coast of Sicily, these islands of volcanic origin called "Aeolian Islands" owe their name to the Greek god Aeolus, guardian of the winds. Itinerary

Map

The captain proposes a complete itinerary, with one or two stopovers per day. These land stops will allow you to criss-cross volcanic islands full of surprises (lava flows, mud baths, prehistoric villages...). With their volcanoes still active, Vulcano and Stromboli regularly let smoke escape. You will have the opportunity to explore the seabed in transparent water, perfectly suited to snorkeling.

DAY 1: Milazzo - Vulcano
The captain wants you to meet him at the marina at 6:00. After dropping off your belongings in your cabin, you will be invited to a welcome cocktail. You will get to know the crew and other passengers. Afterwards, you will attend a briefing on the safety instructions to be followed during navigation. The deckhand will cast off around 7 pm and the gulet will head for Vulcano Island. You will have dinner and spend the night at anchor near Gelso beach.

DAY 2: Vulcano - Panarea - Stromboli
The cook has concocted a delicious breakfast for you, which you will enjoy in front of the impressive volcano (almost 500 metres high) of Vulcano. You then set sail for the small island of Panarea for lunch. How about a dip in the sea before heading back to Stromboli? On arrival, you can visit the village of Stromboli or climb the 900-metre drop to the crater (about a 4-hour walk). The captain will offer you to sail along the coast at night to observe the lava flows. For your dinner, we suggest the Observatory's restaurant. Its location allows you to admire the volcano and its activity. Night at anchor.

DAY 3: Stromboli - Basiluzzo - Panarea
This morning, you head towards Basiluzzo Island and its imposing cliffs, some of which are over 170 metres high (above sea level). You will take advantage of this magnificent setting to refresh yourself in the turquoise water. After lunch, the skipper will head for the bay of Milazzese. Once ashore, you will visit the prehistoric Bronze Age village of Cala Junco. Overnight at anchor.

DAY 4: Panarea - Salina - Filicudi
The crew weighed anchor and steered west towards the island of Salina. You will stop in the bay of Pollara, which served as the location for the film "The Postman" directed by Massimo Troisi. In the early afternoon you will sail back to the island of Filicudi and anchor near the fishing village of Pecorini a Mare. The place is ideal for a walk along the shoreline and enjoy the beach for a swim. Since the island is poorly lit in the evening, you will be able to observe the stars at nightfall. Night at anchor.

DAY 5: Filicudi - Salina
Why don't you start the day with a refreshing swim? The captain hoists the sails and takes you to the west of Filicudi, to the "Bue Marino" cave and its huge 85-metre high rock called La Canna. Get out the flippers and masks to explore this wonderful place! Lunch in this postcard setting then sail to the island of Salina (arrival at the port around 6pm). Upon disembarking, you will have the opportunity to make excursions to the island with its many vineyards or to explore it at your own pace (walk around Salina; climb Mount Dei Porri or Mount Fossa delle Felci; taste local wines). Overnight at the port.

DAY 6 : Salina - Lipari - Vulcano
In the morning you set sail for Lipari and its famous pumice stone mountains. You will be very quickly surprised by the clarity of the waters and its white sand that almost reminds you of the Caribbean. You then head back to the island of Vulcano in order to climb its volcano which culminates at nearly 500 meters. After this beautiful epic and the incredible panoramic view of the Aeolian Islands, you return to the boat and take the Bouches de Vulcano to reach Lipari. For your free dinner, we recommend the "Home Restaurant" and its terrace on the sea (by reservation only). Night at anchor.

DAY 7: Vulcano - Lipari - Milazzo
The boat sails towards the Faraglioni of Lipari, two rocks of volcanic origin, located in the south of the island. You will enjoy swimming in this place where calm and serenity reign. The crossing continues along the coast of Vulcano. You will discover, the Horse's cave and the sun's rays reflecting on its walls but also, the Venus swimming pool whose water, rich in alum stone, makes the skin smooth. Just before arriving in Milazzo you will have a break in the bay of S. Antonino di Ponente for a last swim. The boat will dock at the port of Milazzo at about 18:45. You will have free time to explore the city according to your wishes. Dinner and overnight in the port.

DAY 8 : Milazzo
You disembark at Milazzo after breakfast around 9:00. What if you extend your stay in Sicily and discover the sublime cities of Palermo and Catania?
