Seychelles

DAY 1: Mahé (Victoria Harbour) - Sainte-Anne
Your boarding is scheduled between 3 and 4 p.m. on the Inter Island Pier in Victoria Harbour. Once on board, the crew will take you to your cabin. You will then be invited to a welcome cocktail and get to know the other passengers. The captain will briefly introduce you to the safety briefing and your program for the week. You will then leave the port to reach the beautiful island of Sainte-Anne. Welcome dinner and night at anchor.

DAY 2 : Sainte-Anne - Curious
Morning departure to Curieuse, an uninhabited island belonging to the Seychelles National Park. It is home to the giant turtles of the archipelago, but also to the famous coco de mer (also known as coco-buttock due to their subjective shape). For those who wish, it is possible to follow a local guide to explore the mangroves and visit the farm that houses young turtles. You then return to the beach to enjoy a delicious barbecue. You will have the afternoon to wander around Curieuse, or simply lie down under a palm tree to enjoy the calm of the island. Dinner and night at anchor.

DAY 3 : Curieuse - Cousin - Anse Lazio (Praslin)
At dawn, the crew weighed anchor and set course for Cousin. Once privately owned, this granite island was bought in 1968 by the National Council for the Protection of Birds, becoming a nature reserve. Every year, Cousin welcomes more than 250,000 seabirds that come here to lay their eggs. On the spot, you can observe indigenous passerines (the Seychelles' bearberry, the foudi, the song magpie...) but also sea birds (the white gygis, the noodi, the yellow-billed phaeton...). Back on the boat, you sail to Praslin, to anchor in front of the irresistible beach of Anse lazio. You will put on flippers, masks and snorkels to explore the seabed. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 4 : Anse Lazio - Arid - Saint-Pierre - Baie de Ste-Anne (Praslin)
This morning, the ship is heading for Aride. Contrary to its evocative name, it is far from being a desert! It even hides Wright's Gardenia, an endemic plant that grows only on this island. We will propose you to walk in the heart of its wild nature alongside a ranger who will guide you to the top of the island (optional). Seen from above, the panorama is breathtaking! Lunch on board, then sail to Saint-Pierre Island. Its translucent water will incite you to dive to discover the beauty of its underwater fauna and flora. At sunset, you will set sail for the bay of Ste-Anne. Creole evening, animated by local dancers. Night at the dock.

DAY 5 : Baie de Ste-Anne - Felicite or Grand Soeur - La Digue
Optional excursion to the rainforest of the Vallée de Mai. Often associated with the mythical Garden of Eden, this UNESCO World Heritage site conceals the famous coconut palms, whose fruit weighs an average of 25 kg. It is also in the middle of its palm trees that the last black parrots (an endangered species) hide. Your journey continues to Felicite (or Grande Sœur). This island renowned for its diving spots will be the perfect place for snorkeling enthusiasts. You may come across turtles, leopard rays, surgeon fish... You leave at the end of the afternoon and arrive at La Digue in the evening. Dinner and night on board.

DAY 6 : La Digue - Average
Optional half-day excursion to La Digue, one of the most photographed islands of the archipelago thanks to its imposing granite rocks. During your trip, you will pass by the Union plantation located on the sublime Anse Source d'Argent beach. You will finish by Union Estate, a former coconut plantation. You will discover an old copra mill, which used to make coconut oil. You will return to the ship in the late afternoon. The captain will cast off in the direction of Middle Island, with its fabulous stories of piracy. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 7 : Moyenne - Mahé (Victoria Harbour)
You set foot on land and start the guided tour of the island with a ranger. You then go to the beach, where the crew has prepared delicious barbecue grills for you (weather permitting). Take advantage of your afternoon to stroll around the island, relax on the warm sand and swim among the fish. Back on board, you set sail for Mahé. During the crossing, you can get ready for the captain's dinner, which will take place in a friendly and warm atmosphere. The evening will end with music. Night on board.

DAY 8 : Mahé (Victoria Harbour)
Disembarkation after breakfast around 9am.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • How do I book an optional excursion?

You can pre-book your chosen excursion(s) when booking your cruise. You also can book once you are on-site, subject to availability.
  • What happens if the excursion I have booked cannot take place?

Excursions may be cancelled due to a lack of participants or changes to the itinerary. In this case, any excursion prepayment will be converted into on-board credits. These credits can then be used for alternative excursions or expenses on board (bar or laundry). These credits have no monetary value and cannot be refunded or saved for future cruises or transferred to other passengers.
  • What are the optional excursions?

During your stopovers, you will be able to take part in visits or excursions (optional) accompanied by local guides, according to your wishes. These are not included in the price of your cruise. They must be booked and paid for on the spot. They are subject to a minimum number of 14 participants.

    Below are the possible excursions:
    Praslin :
You will discover the Vallée de Mai nature reserve (UNESCO) and the Côte d'Or beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles. The Vallée de Mai is a tropical forest that is home to the coco de mer, a palm tree that produces the largest seed in the world. You may be lucky enough to spot a black parrot, whose species is endangered. Upon arrival at the Gold Coast beach, refreshments will be served. You can then swim or simply relax on the warm sand.
Duration of the excursion: about 3h30
Fee: about 89 € /person (including bus transport, entrance fees and the services of an English-speaking guide)

Duration of the excursion: about 3h30
Fee: about 68 € /person (including bus transportation, entrance fees and the services of an English-speaking guide)

    Important:

  • The above-mentioned rates are strictly indicative. They are subject to change without notice.
  • Each excursion will be confirmed with a minimum number of participants.
  • All visits are English-speaking.
  • Private French-speaking excursions can be organised (on request), subject to the availability of a French-speaking guide and a minimum number of participants (the crew will inform customers of the price).
  • As the pace of the visits is very fast, we advise participants to be in good physical condition and to wear comfortable shoes adapted to slippery or uneven terrain.
  • Remember to bring sun cream, a hat and water to avoid dehydration.
  • For the visit of places of worship, a covering garment is required.

  • Can I use those services as an addition to my cruise?

  • What documents are required for your trip to the Seychelles?

French nationals must be in possession of a valid passport and your return or onward ticket.
A visa is not required for stays of less than 3 months.

This information is subject to change by the authorities of the country visited. It is not uncommon for border crossing rules to change. We therefore strongly advise you to refer to the "travel advice" section of the France Diplomatie website: https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/conseils-aux-voyageurs/.
  • What are the recommended vaccinations to go to the Seychelles?

No vaccine is mandatory but some are recommended (diphtheria-tetanus-polio (DTP); rubella-mumps-measles (MMR) in children; tuberculosis vaccination is also desirable).
Vaccinations against typhoid fever and hepatitis A and B are sometimes offered.

    WARNING!
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for all travellers from countries where there is a risk of transmission (a list of which can be found at the following link: http://www.who.int/ith/chapters/ithchapterannex1FR.pdf). A valid international vaccination certificate must be presented upon arrival in the Seychelles.

Before travelling abroad, we advise you to consult the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.diplomatie.gouv.fr.
  • Who's in charge of the airlift to the Seychelles?

Your plane tickets can be booked by the GlobeSailor team. You just have to specify it to your adviser when booking your cruise.
  • How are my transfers between the airport and the boat organized?

Your transfers are not included in your cruise package, however they can be organized by your Globe Sailor consultant and the base manager by taxi or minibus. The payment of this service is generally to be made with GlobeSailor at the time of the payment of the balance or directly on the spot in cash. Don't forget to inform your adviser of your arrival time.
  • How are meals organised on board the boat?

During your cruise, you benefit from the full board formula, including breakfasts, lunches (buffet) and dinners. Water, tea and coffee (filter) are at your disposal all day long. Softs and alcoholic beverages are not included. Please check the terms and conditions of your quotation. Your adviser will be able to send you the menus proposed on board on request. They are often prepared using fresh local produce. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you are on a special diet.
NB: Meals are served in the restaurant as a single course and you are free to choose your table. During the day, you may arrive in casual attire (bathing suits and bare feet are not accepted; gentlemen must wear a T-shirt). In the evening, a more formal attire is recommended.
  • What is the logbook?

The logbook is deposited every day in your cabin. You will find the schedule of your day: excursions, departures, meals, activities... We suggest that you read it carefully and always have it with you. It will also be of great help to you during your stopover (departure times, boat contacts in case of emergency, useful addresses...).
  • What is the currency used on board?

The official currency on board is the euro.
  • What is an onboard tab?

You can open a boarding account/tab at the reception desk, at boarding. It allows you to group together all your personal expenses, payable at the end of the cruise, such as drinks at the bar, laundry, Wifi... Cash, as well as Mastercard, American Express and Visa bank cards are accepted. Personal or traveller's cheques are not accepted.
  • What does the guaranteed departure from 12 participants mean?

The completion of your cruise is subject to a minimum number of 12 passengers. If this minimum is not reached, your Globe Sailor consultant will contact you at least 60 days before your departure date to propose a postponement.
  • What payments do I have to make to confirm my reservation?

To confirm your booking, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will make an option for you while you collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once your deposit has been received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), from 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A deposit of 100% will be required for any reservation made less than one month before departure. The balance is due 60 days before departure at the latest.
  • What happens in case of cancellation?

If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
