Your trip to Seychelles - Island Hopping

Seychelles are an island nation located in the western part of the Indian Ocean, which geographically belongs to Africa and is surrounded by a dreamlike sea and breathtaking shorelines with turquoise blue water. Victoria, the capital of the Republic of Seychelles, was named after the British Queen Victoria. The capital of Seychelles, Victoria, allows you to book day tours or cultural events. Monuments can also be visited in Victoria. Or you can visit one of the culinary restaurants in Victoria and then go to your hotel to spend the night before your departure to the other destinations. Covering an area of 455 km², Seychelles' 115 or so islets offer stunning shorelines and bays for your journey and are perfect for a catamaran cruise.

In particular, the so-called Inner Islands of Seychelles, also known as the Seychelles Bank, is an essential destination for holidaymakers. Here, the cruising area stretches from Bird Island in the north to Grande Soeur in the east (approximately 45 nautical miles). You can also find the well-known Cousin Island within this area. Take advantage of our early booking discounts and book your trip to Seychelles and, if applicable, a hotel at the best price.

When choosing the perfect hotel for you to book, there are many options to choose from. Whether you prefer a luxurious or a simple hotel, you can find a hotel that fully suits your needs. Your flight to Seychelles can also be booked with us. All discounts for those who book early can be found on our website. Another bonus for those who choose their sailing dates early is that they have a larger choice of yachts and cruise offers to choose from. Browse our offers and book while the trip price remains comparatively cheap!

Book your flight to Seychelles and start your island hopping on Mahé (after an optional stay at the hotel, incl. breakfast) - an island that should definitely not be missed on your trip and is known for its beaches. On the 28 km long main island of Mahé, you can explore the exquisite bay of Beau Vallon in the northwest during your cruise or discover the unique flora and fauna of the island of Seychelles.

Due to the constitutional protection of nature, Seychelles have an incredible biodiversity per island. You will be offered dreamlike palm beaches and tropical forests per voyage in the islet's interior. You can even see giant tortoises here! Or you can go snorkelling in the turquoise blue water and explore the fantastic underwater world of Mahé Island. It's also worth heading around to the area's famous beaches like Anse Takamaka, Anse Intendance or Police Bay. Every person can enjoy the shorelines and the sea, incl. staying on board here - so your holiday in the Indian Ocean is bound to be a real success, and at the best price (view offers for early bookers). And if you do want to relax, the cabins or deck on board the ship are the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring some mesmerising destinations.

Praslin, the second largest of the Inner Islands of Seychelles in the Indian Ocean, has breathtaking sandy beaches with clear water and a fantastic sea view. The shores are among the most alluring in the world. Enjoy your breakfast with a view of the crystal blue water! Praslin is also easy to reach: you can take a ferry or fly with one of the propeller planes from Mahé International Airport. Enjoy your breakfast here, including delicious coffee with a horizon view. Be sure to try the Coco de Mer nut here, a Seychelles speciality - The Seychelles palm, Coco de Mer, is essential for guests who travel to the islets! It is similar in taste to a regular coconut. However, the Coco de Mer tastes more intense and somewhat fruity. The seeds of the Coco de Mer are the largest in the plant kingdom. One of the whitest and most stunning beaches in Seychelles is also on Praslin: Anse Lazio beach. Vallée de Mai on Praslin is a national park and one of the most delightful and well-known sights on the islets of Seychelles. Here, instead of the water, you can view the forests and nature of Praslin Island from another side. The island of Praslin also offers Anse Georgette, where you can snorkel and play golf.

During your island hopping, visit the smallest of the three primary inhabited islets of Seychelles, the island of La Digue. On board a catamaran, you will travel along the island's coast, which is almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs and has fantastic turquoise-blue water on every beach. This area offers guests many options, for example, some top-rated shores such as Anse Source d'Argent, Anse Severe beach, Anse Marron and Anse Bonnet Carré beach.

Anse Marron on La Digue also combines a gorgeous shoreline with one of the most splendid hiking locations. L'Union Estate Farm on the island is a plantation and a farm from the colonial era - also worth seeing on your route! Another plus of La Digue Island is Fond Ferdinand, a palm wall with unforgettable coastal and valley views of La Digue Island. Or you can explore the vanilla plantations on La Digue. An unforgettable experience on the island of La Digue, not to be missed when island hopping - for all guests on board! For your return to the island of Mahé, you can also book a room at the hotel again to finish your route comfortably.

Another fascinating destination that is considered a unique spot off the shore of Africa is Eden Island. Eden Island is a paradise on earth, located in the Seychelles archipelago. It is an exclusive residential development that offers luxurious villas and apartments with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. The island features pristine white sandy beaches, lush tropical gardens, and a range of amenities, including restaurants, bars, spas, and shops. With its crystal-clear waters and magnificent coral reefs, Eden Island is the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat or an unforgettable holiday experience.

Should you also want to enjoy the Outer Islands on your itinerary, you can travel 130 miles from Mahé in a south-westerly direction of Seychelles to reach the area However, for this trip, you will need a permit from the authorities and a local skipper on board. For the crossing to the Outer Islands, you need to allow a full day, incl. cruising at night. During the night, you can use the cabin or double cabin on board to relax or sleep at night. The cabin / double cabin has enough space for the people on board and is perfect for the nights.

How to get to your cruise ship on the archipelago of Seychelles

Most cruises on Seychelles start from the island of Mahé so that you can arrive comfortably by plane for your holiday due to the international airport established there. You can book a direct or stopover, whereby considerably more airlines offer a flight with a stopover. The flight will then take you to the island of Mahé in Seychelles. Once you have arrived on the island of Mahé, the Port of Entry (Port Victoria) on this island is in the immediate vicinity. You can take a taxi to the charter bases and marinas on the island. Of course, if you wish, you can relax in a hotel for a night before your cruise. Many hotels here offer excellent breakfasts for your holiday and other services. Enjoy the view of the islets of Seychelles from your balcony, and look forward to your departure! With its large shopping mall, the harbour offers you numerous shopping opportunities (there is something for everyone here), so you are well-supplied for your entire holiday.

Climate and cruising conditions in Seychelles

Basically, you can sail and enjoy the sea in Seychelles all year round. So why wait to fly there? From December to March, however, the light north-west wind blows, so rain showers are more frequent. From May to October, there is a strong southeast wind, which rarely brings rain and, instead, cloudless skies. The weather is comparatively dry and humid, with the high season in June and July. Many anchorages become unusable between May and October as the southeastern consumption washes large amounts of seaweed onto the southern shores. If you want to avoid this problem, it is better to arrive during the low wind months of April and November and book a flight for this time. You can also benefit from the clear water and ideal snorkelling conditions.

Nightlife

The nightlife in Seychelles is relatively low-key, but there are still plenty of options for those looking to have a good time. There are several bars and clubs on the islands, live music venues and casinos. Many hotels and resorts also have their own bars and lounges. Popular activities include going out for drinks and dancing, enjoying a sunset cruise, or watching a live band or DJ. Additionally, many of the islands in Seychelles are where you can spend your nights stargazing and watching stunning sunsets. The area has a small but vibrant club scene, with a mix of local and international DJs, bars, and nightclubs. After spending your day relaxing onboard, we recommend spicing up your nights with some of these popular clubs:
  • The Pirates Arms: This club is located in Victoria
  • The Plantation Club: This club is located in the north of Mahe
  • The Pirates Island: This club is located in the north of Mahe
  • The Blue Banana Club: This club is located in Victoria
Remember that the party scene in Seychelles is not as wild as other destinations, but you can still have a good time with your friends, dancing and enjoying the nightlife.

Cruise options with GlobeSailor in Seychelles

We have many ships and cruises to offer guests who wish to travel here. Whether you wish to spend your days lazily cruising along the coast and relaxing on the deck of the ship or exploring the many destinations, the coastline has to offer. We have a package to suit any person! A cabin cruise is a complete luxury experience as it includes all the comforts on board in our price.

The itinerary during your sailing days shall be fully taken care of by our skipper and crew, freeing you from worry and stress as they offer you exceptional luxury service. A skipper chooses the best route for sailing, and the other crew members remain at your disposal to take care of all the essential details (no matter how small!) onboard and in your cabins to make your trip outstanding. Booking a cabin on a sailing cruise can be a great way to meet new people and make friends while exploring the area and on the ship's deck.

You will have all the comforts in your private cabin without worrying about anything. The crew prepares the food with traditional gastronomic flavours, which are included in the full board. You shall also benefit from the luxury of the hostess regularly cleaning the common area. Dates for a Seychelles cruise can be booked for any time of the year, but it is best to check for availability as dates fill up quickly!

You should also note that overnight stays on board cannot always be organised as quickly as in the Mediterranean. In the Indian Ocean, an uncomfortable wave can appear in the sea anytime. Often, the sailors' anchorages are not bays but are located in front of beaches that offer less protection. Nevertheless, an alternative location can always be found quickly should serious problems arise. If you book a skipper or crew with your cruise, they will also be familiar with the most suitable anchorages in Seychelles and all the islands there. The skipper can also design the perfect itinerary for your Seychelles cruise.
