Come and discover the 1,199 or so islands that make up the Maldives, a paradise destination. Located in the northern Indian Ocean, these islands are grouped into 26 atolls. During your 10-day cruise, you will sail and surf in the south of the archipelago, in the Huvadhoo atoll. Still little frequented, the place is ideal to catch the waves and explore the seabed in complete serenity. The local crew will also propose you other activities depending on your stopover (snorkeling, fishing, hiking...).
The best season for surfing in the Maldives is from March to October.

Your adventure will take place aboard the yacht Horizon II. This traditional wooden boat is 25 meters long and has 3 decks. You will enjoy delicious local dishes prepared by the crew on the main deck. You will have the choice between the indoor dining room at the stern and the outdoor table at the front of the boat. At the end of the day, you can relax on the sun deck and enjoy the view of the atolls from the deckchairs.

During the cruise, Horizon II will be accompanied by Whahira, a Maldivian dhoni who will take you to surf spots that are inaccessible on board the yacht.

Your Cabin

Cabin

Horizon II, can accommodate up to 12 passengers in its 6 cabins (2 doubles and 4 twins). Located on the lower deck, the cabins are all air-conditioned and equipped with stowage lockers, UK electrical outlets, small portholes and a shower room with private toilet.

Note : An extra bed can be added in the double cabins, allowing to accommodate 3 persons.

Itinerary of your cruise

During your cruise, you will cruise the idyllic islands of Huvadhoo Atoll and discover its most beautiful waves. Most of the surf spots are within a short distance of each other, so you can enjoy the best conditions every day. In addition to surfing, the Maldives has some great surprises in store for you. Don't hesitate to put on flippers, masks and snorkels to swim with colourful fish or explore the wild beauty of these islands.

DAY 1: Male - Kaadedhdhoo (Atoll Huvadhoo)
Boarding on the boat starts at 8pm.
After landing at Male International Airport, you will take a domestic flight to Kaadedhdhoo Island. Upon arrival, you will be met by the crew who will accompany you on foot to the boat. You will share a welcome drink with the other passengers and get to know the crew. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 2 TO DAY 9: Huvadhoo Atoll
A typical day aboard Horizon II... :
At dawn, the captain sets course for the surf spot that offers the best conditions of the moment. You will go surfing (around 6 or 7 am) before returning to the boat to have your breakfast (bread, omelette, ham, peanut butter, sausages and orange juice). You will then take advantage of your free time to relax on a desert sandbank or to exchange with the other passengers about your sensations on the board. You will also be able to put on fins, masks and snorkels to meet the underwater fauna. At around noon, you will be invited to sit down at the table and taste some tasty local specialities. You return to the water for a new surfing session in the early afternoon. Between two waves, you will be able to have a small tea or coffee break. Back on board, you can relax on one of the sun deck chairs and watch the sunset. Dinner will be served around 7:30 pm. Night on board.

Do not hesitate to ask the crew for advice if you wish to disembark to visit the islands around you.

DAY 10 : Kaadedhdhoo - Malé
Last morning to surf the waves. The crew weighs anchor at 12:00 am to reach Kaadedhdhoo. You will disembark on the island around 16:30 and return to the airport on foot.

    Croisière surf aux Maldives

    11 jours de rêve entre sessions de surf, snorkeling avec la faune marine, baignades, navigation sur mer calme, bonne ambiance à bord etc… Le personnel du bateau était aux petits soins, rien à redire sauf que les spots de surf, bien qu’accessibles par bateau pour la plupart, sont en fait très fréquentés ( parfois jusqu’à 35 personnes à l’eau…)

  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

    Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
    Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • What documents do I need to travel to the Maldives?

    French nationals must be in possession of a passport, valid for 6 months after the date of return. For a stay of less than 30 days, French nationals will be given a visa delivered free of charge upon presentation of: a passport valid for another 6 months after the date of return, a valid return ticket from the Maldives and a hotel reservation confirmation (or failing that, proof of sufficient resources for the duration of the stay: 100 USD + 50 USD per day).

  • How are my transfers between the airport and the boat organized?

    Your transfers to and from the Kaadedhdhoo airport and the boat are included in your package.
    Don't forget to inform your advisor of your arrival time.
  • How are meals organised on board the boat?

    During your cruise, you benefit from the full board package, including breakfasts, lunches (with 1 beer or 1 soft drink) and dinners (with 1 beer or 1 soft drink). Water, tea and coffee (filter) are at your disposal all day long. Softs and alcoholic drinks are not included. Please check the terms and conditions of your quotation. Your adviser will be able to send you the menus proposed on board on request. They are often prepared using fresh local produce. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you are on a special diet.
  • Why surfing on Huvadhoo Atoll?

    Huvadhoo Atoll is still much less frequented today than the Male or Central Atolls. Moreover, the surfing spots are much closer to each other and the swell is much appreciated by the surfers.
  • Who can surf? What are the sizes of the waves?

    All levels are welcome on this cruise (from novice to professional). However, in order for you to fully enjoy the waves, we recommend that you have an intermediate level.
    The waves are between 3 and 6 feet (sometimes 12 feet).
  • Can I bring my surfboard with me? What are the conditions?

    You can bring up to 3 boards from 5'11 to 6'0.
  • Is it possible to organize a diving trip?

    On request at the time of booking, we can indeed organize diving trips for you. To do so, you will need to be in possession of a medical certificate, your diving certificates and be DAN insured.
  • What are the proposed activities for non-surfers?

    Non-surfers will have the opportunity to: snorkel, dive, fish, relax on the beaches.
    On request, the crew will also be able to drop you off on an island in a dinghy.
  • What are the payments to be made to confirm your reservation?

    To confirm your booking, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will make an option(hold) for you while you collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once your deposit has been received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), from 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A deposit of 100% will be required for any reservation made less than one month before departure. The balance is due 45 days before departure at the latest.
  • What happens in case of cancellation?

    In case of cancellation, you must notify your GlobeSailor consultant as soon as possible. Whatever the cause, the following cancellation fees will be due: up to 121 days prior to departure: 30% /// from 120 to 61 days: 50% /// from 60 to departure: 100% of the amount of your reservation.
