Your cruise in Saint Mandrier
Situated on the peninsula of the same name, Saint-Mandrier nearly closes the Bay of Toulon. It is a place that has been welcoming sailors since ancient times seeing as the Phoenicians and Romans used to come here to moor. The peninsula was an island at the time, known as the Isle de Sépet. It ended up being connected to the continent with the construction of a causeway (isthme des Sablettes) in the 17th century. There are many beaches and viewpoints around offering spectacular vistas.

The boat we booked was relatively old, so I was very pleased to find it in perfect condition, The sails were new which helped us along in the relatively light winds we experienced. The sea breeze always kicked in later in the afternoon but this needs to be balanced with finding a spot in the more popular anchorages and marinas
Saint Mandrier was relatively easy to get to by pubilc transport (for some reason Google maps does not have Toulon transport options but get the bateaux bus from the port in toulon (short bus ride or 15 min walk), There is free parking too. The marina is a lovely place to start / end cruise with wide selection of restaurants around the marina.
Check in / Check out was thorough and importantly fair.
