∼ Dive spots ∼

  • Tiger Beach, aas the name implies, it is the perfect place to observe tiger sharks in their natural environment. This incredible spot is located about 30 nautical miles off the Grand Bahama’s northern tip. It is shallow (8 to 10 meters) and is home to several species of sharks (tiger sharks, lemon sharks, grey sharks...).
You will dive in groups of 8 and form a "V" shape on the sand while one of the instructors baits the sharks with food. The sharks will soon come to meet you, for an unforgettable moment. You will also have a chance to take some pictures of these sharks.

  • Mini Wall  is a shoal consisting of two coral-covered mounds. You may get a chance to see reef sharks, turtles, leopard rays and even hammerheads.

  • Sugar Wreck is the wreck of an old sailing ship carrying a cargo of sugar that sank about 100 years ago, to a depth of about 6 metres. The site is home to parrotfish, angelfish, gobies, wrasse, moray eels and schools of snapper. It is also possible to see nurse sharks.

  • Mount Olympus  is an impressive 450-metre high underwater pinnacle, the top of which is located at 18 metres depth. However, you don't need to go deeper than 18 meters to see sharks, dolphins, turtles, and a myriad of reef fish.

  • Theo's Wreck is a wreck lying on the port side since 1982. Due to lack of maintenance, this former 70-metre cargo ship was cleaned and sanitized before being sunk off the coast to serve as an artificial reef. Biodiversity has developed over the years (parrotfish, crocodile fish, barracudas, etc.)

  • Shark Junction is a must for divers. As its name suggests, this site is home to many reef sharks and its large groupers. On its sandy bottom you may see rays and moray eels.

  • Sea Star Wreck is a cargo ship sunk vertically in 2002. This dive will allow you to discover all the corners of this boat and observe the largest crabs in the region, schools of snapper and many others.

  • Caves is composed of 2 caves populated by countless living species. It will be necessary to scrutinize the walls and cracks to detect jacks, remoras, groupers but also sharks.

JOUR 7: Return navigation and last dives
For your last full day onboard, the crew has scheduled two dives in the morning. After lunch, the boat heads back to Grand Bahama and will dock at the marina in the afternoon.

JOUR 8: Bradford Marine (Grand Bahama)
You will disembark in Bradford Marine Harbour after breakfast at approximately 8am.

Please note :
  • There is no dive trip scheduled on the day of embarkation
  • We ask all divers to check their return flight schedule to ensure that a minimum of 24 hours is respected after the last dive

Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • Climate and water temperature:

    Climate and Weather
The Bahamas have a sub-tropical savannah climate, with a dry winter season from November
to April, and wet summer season from May to October.
November through April features mild temperatures, lots of sunshine and little rainfall,
whereas the rainy season is slightly more humid and warm. Daytime temperatures average
around 25°C (77°F) during the winter months and 31°C (88°F) during the summer months, with a cooling down in the evening.
Rain showers can happen at any time throughout the year, although during the winter months
they are short and light. The wettest months are June - September with fairly intense, but
brief thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusty winds, followed by a return intense
    sunshine and breezy conditions.
    Water Temperature and Exposure Suits
Water temperatures range from 23°C in January to 29°C (74°-84°F) in August. Most guests are comfortable diving in a 3mm or 5mm full-length wetsuit. However, your thermal protection
should be based on your individual sensitivity and comfort. Guests who are more susceptible
to cold, especially when doing multiple dives per day, should consider packing a thicker wetsuit and/or bringing a vest/hood.
  • Diving information:

Diving in the Bahamas differs from other locations due to the shark dives; you will spend the
majority of the dives kneeling down or standing in one spot watching the sharks, so will not be
moving much. Please take this into consideration regarding wetsuit thickness and suitable
thermal protection if you get cold easily from lack of movement underwater.

Shark Dives: Scheduled shark dives involve baiting (chumming) or hand-feeding.
On hand-feeding dives, guests will be split into 2 groups of no more than 8 divers. One group
at a time is taken to the feeding site with the shark feeder and a safety diver. During the
feeding, guests kneel on the sandy bottom in a V formation behind the feeder to watch the
shark action. There is often a current from the Gulf Stream around Tiger Beach and, because
the sites are no more than 10-15 metres, there can also be strong swells so guests will be
    given extra weights.

The minimum age for participation in shark dives is 18 years old.

Open Pool: On certain dive sites, after the scheduled baited / feeding dives, there is an open
pool policy where guests can jump in the water and watch the action as the mood takes them.
  • Guest's level of diving :

It is recommended that guests wishing to participate in scuba diving aboard Bahamas Master
have PADI Advanced Open Water* certification, or equivalent, with a minimum of 50 logged
dives. You will be asked to show certification cards and a record of your logged dives when
you board as proof of experience.

*Guests with the minimum number of required dives but are not certified as Advanced Open
Water divers, may be able to complete the course on board, depending on the itinerary.
Please contact our reservations team for further information.

Any guests who do not fulfil the recommended minimum requirements, or who the crew feel
have insufficient experience in certain conditions, may be denied participation in some or all
    dives during the liveaboard.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the diving conditions please contact our
    reservations team directly.
