During your 3-night stay at the Mahana 3* (local standards) hotel in Avea Bay, southwest of Huahine Island. You will quickly be enchanted by the authenticity and charm of this hotel whose name means "sun" in Tahitian. Enjoy its white sandy beach to relax, and its coral garden to swim in turquoise water, among a myriad of brightly coloured fish.

With a surface area of 26m² and a terrace of 6m², your garden bungalow allows you to relax in complete serenity. It is air-conditioned and equipped with a king size bed (200 x 200 cm), an air brewer, a television, a telephone, a refrigerator, a tea/coffee set, a hairdryer and a bathroom.

Your Cabin

During your cruise, you will stay in one of the two hulls of the catamaran, which will be entirely reserved for you. The cabins are bright and spacious. They are all equipped with a double bed, storage space, and a privcate bathroom wiht adjoining toilets. The crew has its quaters in the other hull.

DAY 1 : Hotel Le Mahana (Hauhine)
Check-in begins at 2pm.
A collective transfer awaits you at Hauhine airport to take you to your hotel, Le Mahana. After a welcome drink you will be led to your garden bungalow. The Mahana provides you with paddles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Explore the sublime lagoon with its turquoise waters, and the coral gardens populated with thousands of vibrant fish.

DAY 2 & 3 : Hotel Le Mahana
This morning, you awake to a green paradise. Enjoy breakfast on the beach admiring the lagoon and plan your exploration of the island. There are only 8 villages scattered throughout the island,they local have managed to preserve and protect their historical and cultural heritage. During a hike at the foot of Mount Mou’a Tapu, you will discover the Maeva village and its archaeological site. Mingle with the locals to learn about their culture and listen to some of their legends. We recommend taking a day to discover the island of Huahine by 4x4, bicycle or car to experience it at your own pace. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4 : Hotel Le Mahana - Village de Fare (Huahine)
After breakfast, you will have a few more hours to enjoy the beautiful white sandy beach and its crystal-clear water. You are scheduled to board your catamaran from 1pm. Your skipper will be waiting for you in an annex on the hotel pontoon. Once on board, you will meet your hostess/cook and take a seat in your cabin. Before you weigh anchor, you get a brief on the itinerary and safety instructions. Afterwards, head to Hana Iti Beach, for a quiet swim and amazing snorkeling sites. You then lead and head and anchor in Fare’s pass. Stroll between the fruit stall and village shops. For dinner, we suggest the Te Marara restaurant where you can taste local specialties. Overnight on board.

DAY 5 : Fare Village - Fa'aroa Bay (Raiatea)
The skipper heads for Raiatea, the sacred island of the archipelago. You reach the bay of Fa’aroa in the late morning and have lunch on board the Tahitian dishes prepared by your hostess. In the early afternoon, hike up the Fa’aroa River. While hiking you will pass through a tropical forest that has Purau flowers that are white in the morning and change during the day. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

DAY 6 : Fa'aroa Bay - Opoa Bay (Raiatea)
You leave anchorage in the morning and travel a few miles to Opoa Bay. This stopover will allow you to explore the Taputapuatea marae to Oro, god of war and fertility. This former political, ceremonial and funeral centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2017. It is considered as one of the most important and emblematic marae of Polynesia. Back on board, you continue your journey and anchor at the motu Nao Nao. This small island covered with coconut trees, offers a magnificent white sandy beach, ideal for a golden tan. Snorkeling enthusiast will quickly be seduced by the amazing marine life. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

DAY 7 : Motu Nao Nao - Apu Bay (Taha'a) - Motu Mahaea (Taha'a)
You set sail along the west coast of Raiatea to reach the volcanic island of Taha’a, also known as Vanilla Island. The skipper drops anchor in Apu Bay and takes you to visit a pearl farm. Your guide, on site, will teach you everything you need to know about pearl farming and the famous “Black Tahitian Pearls”. After lunch, you head back to the sea to reach the motu Mahaea. You can take advantage of this Eden to relax in the shade of the palm trees or go around the islet in a paddle. Dinner and overnight at anchor.

DAY 8 : Motu Mahaea - Motu Tautau (Taha'a)
What would a stopover in Taha’a be without a visit to a vanilla plantation? Your guide will explain to you the specifics of growing these vines. At the end, you can buy pods directly from the farmer. Your tour of Taha’a continues to the motu Tautau. Snorkel and swim alongside stingrays and then enjoy the sunset on Bora Bora. Dinner and overnight anchored.

DAY 9 : Motu Tautau - Motu Topua (Bora Bora)
Equipped with fins, mask and snorkels, the skipper will accompany you to explore the sublime coral garden. Get back on board and enjoy the delicious dishes prepared by your hostess. You set sail early in the afternoon to reach Bora Bora, the Pearl of the Pacific. You arrive at the motu Toopua at the end of the day. You will enjoy the view of Bora Bora and its Mount Otemanu. For your dinner, we recommend Bloody Mary’s restaurant, which will offer you American cuisine as well as seafood and fish. Night at anchor.

DAY 10 : Bora Bora Lagoon
Today you sail along the “Route des motus” and discover beautiful landscapes. During the crossing, stops are planned so that you can swim, paddle or kayak. For your lunch and dinner (not included) we propose you set foot on land to find a local restaurant, and the crew will suggest you one according to your wishes. Take advantage of your free time to stroll around the island and discover its lush vegetation. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 11 : Bora Bora Lagoon
Take the time to enjoy your breakfast in front of this dream setting. The skipper weighed anchor and head south for Bora Bora. You can swim one last time among the fish or relax on a floating hammock. Disembark no later than 1pm in Vaitape. A shuttle, included in the flight price, will take you to the airport.

Your flight tickets can be booked by the GlobeSailor team. All you have to do is specify it to your advisor when you book your cruise.
For EU and non EU residents, check with the consulate of their country of origin for information on formalities.
Your package includes the one-way transfer. Upon arrival at the airport, you will benefit from a collective transfer that will take you to the hotel (about 25 min). For your transfer back to Vaitape, a sea shuttle, included in the flight price, will take you to the airport (about 20 minutes). Don't forget to forward your arrival times to your advisor.
All the skippers we offer are registered and hold the necessary professional certificates. They speak French and English fluently. If you have any special requirements regarding the skipper, please let us know. The skipper is responsible for navigation and your safety on board. Concerning the organisation, the skipper sleeps on the boat, either in a separate cabin or in the saloon. The skipper is not responsible for cooking or washing dishes. On request, a hostess (or cook) can prepare your meals, clean the saloon, your cabins and more generally ensure that the boat is in good order.
During your stay at the seaside, you will benefit from the half board formula including: breakfasts and dinners (2 courses, starter/dish or main course/dessert). Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included. Check the terms and conditions of your quotation carefully. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
During your cruise, you will benefit from the full board formula including: breakfasts, lunches and dinners. These are organized and prepared by the hostess / cook. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included, but can be added in addition. Check the terms and conditions of your quotation carefully. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
Basic, your package includes 2 nights in a garden bungalow. However, if you wish, and for an additional charge, you can stay in another category of accommodation and/or extend your stay by one or more nights.
Mahana's bungalows:
  • Traditional Fare: located opposite the lagoon, this bungalow made of coconut wood, bamboo and pandanus of 48.5 m² has a private semi-piloted terrace of 13.5 m².
  • Bungalow Deluxe Beach: located on the beach, this 48 m² bungalow has a 15 m² private terrace and a 14 m² private garden with a shower area.
  • Bungalow Deluxe Lagoon View: located only 15 steps from the beach, this 48 m² bungalow has a beautiful view of the lagoon, a private terrace of 15 m² and a private garden with a 14 m² shower area.
  • Bungalow on the edge of the lagoon: this 28 m² semi-detached bungalow overlooks the lagoon at 180° and has a private terrace of 8 m².
  • Below is a non-exhaustive list of activities and excursions offered by Hotel Le Mahana.
  • Open access equipment: kayaks, paddles, fins, masks, snorkels, beach towels and deckchairs.
  • Open access activities: pareo, woven crowns, initiation to the Tahitian language...
  • Tour of the island by land: 4x4 car tour, guided tour, guided quad tour
  • Nautical excursions Island tour by pirogue with picnic seated in the lagoon, combined 4x4 car tour and pirogue, scuba diving, kitesurfing, deep sea fishing.

  • You will also have the possibility to rent cars, scooters or bicycles from a professional partner of the hotel.
    To be noted: The activities and excursions mentioned below are strictly indicative. We cannot guarantee their realization during your stay. The rates for paid activities will be available on site.
    The local currency is the Pacific franc.
    To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
    The booking will only be considered final once your down payment has been recieved (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
    The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding.
    If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 25%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
