Enjoy a 3-night stay at the 3 star (local standards) Mahana Hotel in Avea Bay, southwest of Huahine Island. Be enchanted by the authentic charm of the hotel, whose name means "sun" in Tahitian. Relax on the hotels white sandy beach and swim in its turquoise waters with brightly coloured fish.
The hotel's staff are from the island and its neighbouring villages.

Relax in complete serenity in your garden bungalow of 26m², with a terrace of 6m². The bungalow is air-conditioned and equipped with a king size bed (200 x 200 cm), a fan, a television, a telephone, a fridge, tea/coffee, a hairdryer and a bathroom.

DAY 1 : Hotel Le Mahana (Hauhine)
A transfer will collect you at Hauhine airport and take you to the Mahana Hotel, for check-in from 2pm. Enjoy a welcome drink before discovering your garden bungalow. The hotel will provide you with paddles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Explore the nearby lagoon with its turquoise waters and the coral gardens populated with thousands of vibrant fish.

DAY 2 & 3 : Hotel Le Mahana
Wake up in a green paradise! Enjoy breakfast on the beach while admiring the lagoon and plan your exploration of the island. There are 8 villages scattered throughout the island, rich in history and culture. During a hike at the foot of Mount Mou’a Tapu, you will discover the Maeva village and its archaeological site. Mingle with the locals to learn about their culture and listen to some of their legends. We recommend you to take a day to discover the island of Huahine on a 4x4 vehicle, bicycle or car, to experience it at your own pace. Dinner and overnight will be spent at the hotel.

DAY 4 : Hotel Le Mahana - Village de Fare (Huahine)
After breakfast, you will have a few hours to enjoy the hotels beautiful white sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. You are scheduled to board your catamaran at 1pm. Your skipper will be waiting for you in an dinghy on the hotel pontoon. Once on board, you will meet your hostess/cook and can explore your cabin. You will be briefed on the itinerary and safety instructions before departure. The boat will head to Hana Iti Beach, accessible only by sea. Take a swim or a snorkelling session! Your cruise continues and you will anchor in Fare’s pass. We recommend a stroll between the fruit stalls and village shops. For dinner, we suggest the 'Te Marara' restaurant, where you can taste local specialties. Overnight will be spent on board.

DAY 5 : Fare Village - Fa'aroa Bay (Raiatea)
The skipper heads for Raiatea, the sacred island of the archipelago. You will reach the bay of Fa’aroa in the late morning and have lunch on board, Tahitian dishes prepared by your hostess. In the early afternoon, the skipper will offer you a trip by dinghy up the Fa'aroa river. You will pass by a densen tropical forest and you can see the mountains of Raiatea, Temehani Rahi is one of the largest of the island. You will undoubtedly see some yellow flowers of the Purau (hibiscus tiliaceus) floating around you. The flowers are white in the morning and change colour during the day. Dinner and overnight will be spent at anchor.

DAY 6 : Fa'aroa Bay - Opoa Bay (Raiatea)
You leave the anchorage in the morning and travel a few miles to Opoa Bay. This stop will allow you to explore the marae Taputapuatea dedicated to Oro, god of war and fertility. This former political and ceremonial centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2017. It is considered one of the most important and emblematic marae of Polynesia. Step back on board and continue your journey to the motu Nao Nao. This small island, covered with coconut trees, boasts a beautiful white sandy beach, ideal for sunbathing peacefully. Snorkeling enthusiasts will enjoy its coral reef and its abundance of fish. Dinner and overnight will be spent at anchor.

DAY 7 : Motu Nao Nao - Apu Bay (Taha'a) - Motu Mahaea (Taha'a)
Set sail along the west coast of Raiatea to reach the volcanic island of Taha’a, also known as Vanilla Island. The skipper will drop anchor in Apu Bay and take you to visit a pearl farm. A guide will teach you everything you need to know about pearl farming and the famous “Black Tahitian Pearls”. After lunch, you head back towards the motu Mahaea. You can relax in the shade of the palm trees or explore the islet by paddle. Dinner and overnight will be spent at anchor.

DAY 8 : Motu Mahaea - Motu Tautau (Taha'a)
What would a stopover in Taha’a be without a visit to a vanilla plantation? A guide will explain the process of growing vanilla. At the end, you can buy vanilla pods directly from the farmer. Your tour of Taha’a will continue to the motu Tautau. Snorkel and swim alongside stingrays and then enjoy a Bora Bora sunset! Dinner and overnight will be spent at anchor.

DAY 9 : Motu Tautau - Motu Topua (Bora Bora)
Equipped with fins, mask and snorkels, the skipper will accompany you to explore the sublime coral garden. Get back on board and enjoy a delicious meal prepared by your hostess. Set sail early in the afternoon to reach Bora Bora, the Pearl of the Pacific. You will arrive at the motu Toopua at the end of the day. Enjoy the view of Bora Bora and its Mount Otemanu. For your dinner, we recommend Bloody Mary’s restaurant, which will offer you American cuisine, as well as seafood and fish. Night will be spent at anchor.

DAY 10 : Bora Bora Lagoon
Spend time sailing along the “Route des motus” and discover beautiful landscapes. During the crossing, stops are planned so that you can swim, paddle or kayak. For your lunch and dinner (not included), we suggest you look for a local restaurant, and the crew can recommend one to you, based on your preferences. Take advantage of your free time to stroll around the island and discover its lush vegetation. Dinner and overnight will be spent on board.

DAY 11 : Bora Bora Lagoon
Take the time to enjoy your breakfast in a dream setting. The skipper will set ssail and head south for Bora Bora. You can swim one last time among the fish or relax on a floating hammock. You will disembark no later than 1pm in Vaitape. A shuttle, included in the price, will take you to the airport.

  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

    Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English speaking travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
    Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer a multilingual service.
  • Who takes care of my transport to Polynesia?

    Your flight tickets can be booked by your GlobeSailor advisor. Please specify this to your advisor when you book your cruise.
  • What documents do I need to travel to Polynesia?

    For EU, UK, US and AU/NZ residents, please check with the department of foreign affairs of your country of origin for information on formalities.
  • How can I arrange my transfer from the airport to the boat?

    Your package includes a one-way transfer. Upon arrival at the airport, you will benefit from a collective transfer that will take you to the hotel (about 25 min). For your transfer back to Vaitape, a sea shuttle, included in the flight price, will take you to the airport (about 20 minutes). Don't forget to forward your arrival times to your advisor.
  • What do the skipper and the hostess do?

    All the skippers we offer are registered and hold the necessary professional certificates. They speak French and English fluently. If you have any special requirements regarding the skipper, please let us know. The skipper is responsible for navigation and your safety on board. Concerning the organisation, the skipper sleeps on the boat, either in a separate cabin or in the saloon. The skipper is not responsible for cooking or washing dishes. On request, a hostess (or cook) can prepare your meals, clean the saloon, your cabins and more generally ensure that the boat is in good order.
  • How are meals at the hotel organised?

    During your stay at the seaside, you will benefit from the half board formula including: breakfasts and dinners (2 courses, starter/dish or main course/dessert). Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included. Check the terms and conditions of your quotation carefully. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
  • How are meals on board the boat organised?

    During your cruise, you will benefit from the full board formula including: breakfasts, lunches and dinners. These are organized and prepared by the hostess / cook. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are not included, but can be added in addition. Check the terms and conditions of your quotation carefully. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
  • Is it possible to change the type of bungalow at the hotel? To extend my stay?


    Your package includes 2 nights in a garden bungalow. However, if you wish, and for an additional charge, you can stay in another category of accommodation and/or extend your stay by one or more nights.
    Mahana's bungalows:

  • Traditional Fare:
  • located opposite the lagoon, this bungalow made of coconut wood, bamboo and pandanus of 48.5 m² has a private semi-piloted terrace of 13.5 m².
  • Deluxe Beach Bungalow:
  • located on the beach, this 48 m² bungalow has a 15 m² private terrace and a 14 m² private garden with a shower area.
  • Bungalow Deluxe Lagoon View:
  • located only 15 steps from the beach, this 48 m² bungalow has a beautiful view of the lagoon, a private terrace of 15 m² and a private garden with a 14 m² shower area.
  • Bungalow on the edge of the lagoon:
  • this 28 m² semi-detached bungalow overlooks the lagoon at 180° and has a private terrace of 8 m².


  • Does the hotel offer excursions?


    Below is a non-exhaustive list of activities and excursions offered by Hotel Le Mahana.

  • You will also have the opportunity to rent cars, scooters or bicycles from a professional partner of the hotel.

  • What currency is used in Polynesia?


    The local currency is the Pacific franc.


  • What payments must I make in order to confirm my booking?

    To confirm your reservation, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will ask for an option for you to collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once your deposit received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), from 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A deposit of 100% will be required for any reservation within one month of departure. The balance will be due no later than 45 days before the boarding date.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?

    If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking.
