• Can I book my flights or a stay in addition to my cruise?

• What documents do I need to travel to Alaska?

  Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States. To enter or transit through the US, you must have either an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) visa waiver or a visa. This information is subject to change by the authorities of the country visited. It is not unusual for border crossing rules to change. We strongly advise you to check formalities with the consulate of your country of origin.

• Is everyone on board English-speaking?

  Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
  Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.

• How do I get to Port Alsworth?

  You can fly to Port Alsworth from Anchorage. The two airlines based in Port Alsworth are Lake Clark Air and Lake and Peninsula Airlines.

• How are my transfers between the airport and the boat organised?

  Transfers (to and from the airport) are included in your package. Staff will pick you up at the airport and bring you back.

• How are meals organised on board?

  You will enjoy full board on your cruise from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 7. Breakfasts are hearty and include meat, eggs, pastries and fruit. Lunches are generally sandwiches for hikes or land excursions, while dinners offer a varied choice including steaks, salmon, chicken, etc.
  Please be sure to indicate any allergies or dietary requirements.

• What equipment should I bring with me?

  Be sure to pack rain gear and layers for colder days, as well as short sleeves and swimwear for the occasional warm day. Hiking shoes or boots are also recommended for land excursions.

• Do I have to be in good physical shape?

  No particular physical condition is required on board. However, it is important that you can get on and off the boat with ease.
  Please note that land excursions will sometimes be on slippery and uneven ground.

• Can I see bears?

  Bear sightings are not guaranteed. If you wish, you may consider including a day trip to see them. You'll take a seaplane to Katmai National Park to watch the bears.

• Can I see the Northern Lights?

  Unfortunately not, it is too sunny in the summer for this to be possible in this region. They occur more during the winter, when the boat is out of the water.

• What is the climate like in Alaska?

  It's impossible to predict the weather as it is constantly changing. You can expect temperatures ranging from 7 to 20 degrees.

• How do I confirm my booking?

  To confirm your reservation, you must inform your GlobeSailor consultant who will propose a time to collect your deposit. The reservation will not be considered final until your deposit has been received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), from 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A deposit of 100% will be required for any reservation made less than one month before departure. The balance is due 45 days before departure at the latest.

• What happens in case of cancellation?

  In case of cancellation, you must inform your GlobeSailor consultant as soon as possible. Whatever the cause, the following cancellation fees will be due: up to 90 days before departure: 30% /// from 89 to 60 days: 50% /// from 59 to 30 days: 75% /// from 29 days to departure: 100% of the amount of your reservation. We advise our clients to subscribe to a cancellation insurance with Ouest Assurance.
