Grenadines Adventure
The Bali 5.4 was a great vessel for charter with 12 guests. Lots of space for passengers to spread out in. Nice accommodation and dining area. Averaged 7.5 to 8.5 kts motor sailing. Would have been nice to have had more snorkeling opportunities. Food was marginal

An incredible trip in an incredible location
BOOKING PROCESS: Very good indeed. CHECKING IN & MARINA: A lovely check in team at the office at the marina. Some confusion with the arrival instructions we were given with one lot saying to check in at 1800 hrs, another saying departure at 1800, then we found some information saying the office at the Marina closed at 1730 hrs. We arrived 2 hrs early to be on the safe side and were able to check in and then stashed our bags in the luggage room (which has a coded door entry) while we went for a drink and were able to leave a bag for the week if we had wanted to, to save space in our yacht cabin. THE BOAT: A very well appointed catamaran which was a joy to sail and live in. There were plenty of seats and loungers so we were always comfortable up top and the cabins were spacious for a boat and well appointed. THE CREW: Cannot speak highly enough of our skipper (Lucius) and Cook (Karine) who really were absolutely outstanding. Very organised, super nice and friendly, very engaging and inclusive. Lucius is something of a celebrity everywhere you go and you can see why as he is so much fun and very capable. Karine also had friends everywhere we went and was both an exceptional cook (we wanted to take her with us back home) and very fun and charismatic. We had plenty of food each day and enjoyed a lovely menu which reflected the local cuisine. THE LOCATION: We loved the itinerary, it gave just the right amount of time on the different islands and a great balance between sailing and being moored in beautiful locations. The excursions were a lot of fun and added an extra dimension to the trip.
Frequently asked questions
-
How can I arrange my transfer from the airport to the boat? What about provisioning?
After you have made your booking the base manager will contact you to give you more information on your cruise. Make sure you confirm what time you will be arriving and also your flight details. A taxi or minibus can meet you at the airport and bring you directly to the boat at an extra cost.
Provisioning and meals will be taken care of by your crew. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian etc…) make sure to let the base manager know. -
Are the menus adapted to special dietary requirements?
We strive to offer the best possible services on our cruises and providing special dietary options are part of this. Please inform your charter advisor of any dietary restrictions or requirements well in advance of the cruise, so that the crew may be informed and make the necessary adaptations to the menus provided.
Please note that the preparation of adapted menus adds a certain level of complexity for our hostesses/cooks, who will prepare meals for 12 guests on board. Sourcing good quality substitute products also incurs additional costs. It is therefore necessary for us to charge a supplement, in order to guarantee that all our guests on board receive the same level of quality service. -
Is everyone on board English-speaking?
Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service. -
What payments must I make in order to confirm my booking?
To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding to GlobeSailor. Mandatory extras and options will be payable locally. Be sure to check with your advisor or the base prior to departure. -
What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?
If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider. -
What currency is used in the Grenadines?
The currency in the Grenadines is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$ or XCD)
In April 2018, 1 € = 3,33 EC$ et 1 EC$ = 0,3 €. However the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Eastern Caribbean dollar is fixed: 1 US$ = 2,70 $EC.
The Eastern Caribbean Dollar is used in 7 other English speaking Caribbean islands: Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint-Kitts and St. Lucia.
Leave home with US dollars or take cash out from an ATM when you are there. You can find some on most of the islands (except Mayreau), but be warned, they are sometimes out of order! -
What documents are needed to travel to the Grenadines?
British and US passport holders don’t need a visa to visit St Vincent and the Grenadines, but you must have a passport valid for at least 6 months. On entry, you will be granted a specified period to stay. If you wish to stay longer, you must apply and pay for an extension of your stay through the St Vincent Immigration Department.
For other nationalities you should consult the advice issued by your government's foreign office.
