Cruise in Marsh Harbour

SandyThe base team at Marsh Harbour were excellent. The boat was in excellent condition when picked up. Terrence was fantastic and went through the navigation charts and provided many helpful tips. Naz and Crabs also made sure the boat was ready and helped in any way they could. Big Charlie provided great restaurant tips. Fantastic vacation!!!

PhilWe arrived at the base early to discuss and plan our week and meet our Skipper. We requested an earlier handover and managed to set sail around 3pm rather than spend the first night in the marina, This was very much appreciated. Our catamaran was well maintained and in good order. High spec level etc and everything seemed to be in good working order. Our Skipper Keino was very professional and really joined in with us. He quickly learned our preferences and then planned a trip to suit our needs. A boat's a boat, a Skipper's a Skipper, but the personality of that Skipper is very important and can make a huge difference to your experience. In fact our biggest concern prior to our arrival was our Skipper but Keino did a really great job in both taking care of us and making the week hugely enjoyable. We prefer to spend nights on anchor rather than moorings or in marinas and he found us some great locations each evening.....partly dictated by some poor weather conditions but always great fun. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this destination or operation and we're certainly looking forward to going back sometime in the future.

MarkWe truly enjoyed the boat and our crew. We were a little surprised when we showed up that the owner of the company said we couldn't load onto the boat until the exact minute the charter started because of "work going on on the boat" and that we would have to stay in harbor the first night (never our choice). When we went out to the dock, there was no work going on of any kind and the skipper (who was great), said we could get right on and get going. This was awkward, though we did resolve it and headed out for the night. The boat is an amazing boat - going from the 45 to the 52 is a step change a lot bigger than the 7 feet in LOA! We spent 7 days and went many places, despite persistent mechanical problems with the boat that made us stay in harbors a couple of extra times. In general, we found the Bahamas a bit underwhelming compared to places like Greece, Thailand and the Seychelles - the distances were small between islands and the snorkeling was quite disappointing (all reefs have been fished and damaged beyond repair). On the other hand, the islands were very pretty and the shells were pretty cool and the sand was great - all things that are important!
