Marina Check in was very quick
Yacht Handover is a bit time consuming with the App
Great Yacht and a great Sailing area
We had a great sailing trip from Lavrion to Cyclades.
The boat (Hanse 455) was in great condition and very well equipped. It sailed smoothly and it was very comfortable and easy to handle. The marina is very well organised with all services just nearby.
The South Sea Sail team was great! The check-in and check-out process was straight-forward and efficient. The team gave us very good tips regarding where to go and they were always keen to help.
The islands we visited (Kea, Kythnos, Serifos, Sifnos, Polyaigos) were simply amazing. Especially Polyaigos has some of the best waters in the Aegean.
All in all a great trip, highly recommended!
Boat was small but great for 2/3 people or single handed. Really new equipment and well maintained. Sailing area accessible from lavrio marina is perfect to explore the Greek culture and some of the most beautiful islands
Great pre-trip communication, with useful potential itineraries and a lot of help with extras and information. The Perfect Yachts set-up is smooth, relaxed and got us going quickly. We had a direct number to contact at any time with any issues - there are always a few questions on a new boat with different systems.
The boat was well configured and the handover was thorough. It might be useful to have a cheat sheet for the domestic and wet-side services because there is a fair amount to cover. We videoed the handover for reference.
We didn't get a far as we'd planned because the wind direction meant the last couple of days would have been very bouncy, so we redirected and found a couple of locations which were superb - eg the small island off Ermopoulis is a perfect desert island for beach barbeques.
Anchoring a cat needs space and plenty of chain, plus additional crew up front for retrieval to keep the chain clear so an eye can be kept on chain angle. It all becomes clear, but in this windier part of Greece you just need to be a bit sharper than usual.
We added the Code Zero - great fun for the angles a cat responds to, but again you need to keep an eye on wind speed. It came with a furler which makes flying it easy.
You'll need the power winch for a lot of the sail handling.
Tender was excellent - super reliable Mercury allowed a lightly loaded boat to plane for exploring further afield. Easy to launch and stow.
Boat-wise: Cabins good, though not heaps of stowage. Central living areas are big and the galley is good - good fridge and freezer space.
The generator isn't too intrusive and allowed aircon, fridges and battery charging. It was needed to run the aircon at anchor.
Everything was immaculate, from engine rooms to heads.
All in all, spot on. It's an expensive option compared to a monohull, but we split this with another family for which there's heaps of space.
