Frequently asked questions

  • What documents do I need to travel to Cape Verde?

    Travelers should ensure they have the necessary valid travel documents to enter Italy. For stays under 3 months, many nationalities - such as EU citizens - can enter with a valid national ID card or passport. However, requirements vary depending on your nationality.

    Please note: Some ID cards may have extended validity periods beyond the printed expiration date, but it’s generally recommended to use a valid passport to avoid any issues.

    The Cape Verdean authorities require this passport to be valid for at least six months after the planned end of the stay in the country. Emergency passports issued by France are recognized.

    Entry requirements and border regulations can change frequently. We strongly recommend checking the official travel advice from your country’s government or the Italian consulate before traveling.

    Entry to and exit from Cape Verde must be made from the following air border posts:
    - Santiago island: Nelson Mandela airport in Praia ;
    - Sal island: Amílcar Cabral airport;
    - São Vicente island: Cesária Évora airport in Mindelo ;
    - Boa Vista island: Aristides Pereira airport.

    This information is subject to change by the authorities of the country visited. It is not unusual for border crossing rules to change. We therefore strongly advise you to refer to the ‘advice to travelers' section of your home countries consulate

    If you are not a citizen of the European Union or Switzerland, please verify the visa and entry requirements with the Italian embassy or consulate in your home country.

    Nationals of other countries should check formalities with the consulate of their country of origin.
  • Can I book my flights or a holiday in addition to my cruise?

    YES!
    Our travel agency offers all our customers embarking on cruises the opportunity to reserve their flights or accommodation. Our tailor-made offers are adapted to your needs and your budget.

    We have created two offers 100% customizable :

  • "Is there a minimum age to take part in this cruise?

    For reasons of safety and comfort, the minimum age required for a shared cruise is 5 years. However, there is no minimum age for private cruises.
    We also recommend that children know how to swim or are familiar with the water.
    If your children are younger, our team will be happy to help you find a more suitable cruise."
  • What happens if the excursion I have reserved cannot take place?

    Excursions may be cancelled due to a lack of participants or changes to the itinerary. In this case, any advance payment for excursions will be converted into on-board credits. These credits can then be used for alternative excursions or for on-board expenses (bar or laundry). These credits have no monetary value and cannot be refunded or kept for future cruises or transferred to other passengers.
  • How do I reserve an optional excursion?

    When you book your cruise, you can reserve the excursion(s) of your choice in advance. You can also reserve on the spot, subject to availability.
  • What do I need to do to confirm my reservation?

    To confirm your reservation, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will place an option for you while he/she collects your deposit. Your reservation will only be considered definitive once we have received your deposit (by bank transfer, PayPal or credit card) of 50% of the total cost of the reservation. A 100% deposit will be required for all reservations made less than one month before departure. The balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the date of embarkation.
  • What happens in the event of cancellation?

    In the event of cancellation, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the cause, the following cancellation fees will be due: up to 90 days before departure: 30% /// from 89 to 60 days: 50% /// from 59 to 30 days: 75% /// from 29 days to departure: 100% of the amount of your reservation.
