Some of the most iconic streets in the historical centre include: Yaowarat Road, Dibuk Road, Krabi Road, Soi Rommanee, Phang Nga Road, Ranong Road and Ratsada Road. The old town is quite compact and is easily discoverable by foot.
Thailand is a major shopping destination and there are often massive commercial centres which you can explore as well as authentic boutiques and souvenir shops. As you stroll, you will come across boutiques, museums, cafés and restaurants. The humid or hot season extends from mid-March to mid-May, the heat is searing, and the temperatures reach 36 degrees. From mid-May to mid-November is the rainy season. There are often violent storms, but it is always possible to make the most of sunshine hours during this season. The best period to travel and discover Thailand would be between November and February when the temperatures are high, hot sun and warm water.
