Seychelles

DAY 1: Mahé/Beau Vallon Bay.
Your captain and crew will meet you at Inter Island Quay at 10:30 a.m. for boarding. After a warm welcome, your cruise begins along the coast of Mahé. You will sail along the north-west coast of the island passing by the bay of Beau-Vallon. On the spot, you can enjoy a preserved landscape, the ideal setting for a barbecue dinner and a first night at anchor.

DAY 2 : Beau Vallon Bay - Baie Ternay
You will continue your navigation off Mahé in the direction of Ternay Bay on the west coast of the island. This marine park will be the ideal place for a first dive, with or without tanks, according to your wishes. In the afternoon, return to Beau-Vallon where you can enjoy a sunset worthy of tropical latitudes.

DAY 3 : Ternay Bay - Cousin
Early in the morning, you set sail for Cousin Island to continue your stay. Once there, keep your eyes open, you may see the Song Magpie. This extremely rare and endangered bird can be observed in the heart of a very protected bird sanctuary that you can visit. Cousin is an island where many other species reside for your enjoyment.

DAY 4 : Cousin - Vallée de Mai
Your cruise continues to Possession Cove, located on the island of Praslin. After discovering Cousin's rare fauna, you will explore the flora of the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take advantage of the visit of a prehistoric forest to observe Black Parrot and Sea Coco, two rare and endemic species of the island. Back on board, an afternoon dedicated to the exploration of the seabed awaits you.

DAY 5 : Vallée de Mai - La Digue
On your fifth day, set course for la Digue. We suggest you rent a bike to visit the island as you wish. For those who would prefer a more atypical ride, the visit of the island by oxcart is also possible. How to visit La Digue without going through Anse Source d'Argent? Its granite blocks seem to have fallen from the sky, making it one of the most emblematic beaches on the planet.

DAY 6 : La Digue - Curious
In the early morning, you will sail towards the island of Curieuse, famous for its giant turtles. After a barbecue on the island, enjoy sunbathing on the warm sand. In the afternoon, you will sail to the island of Saint-Pierre where you will be able to dive in the company of Surgeon fish (Clown and White-breasted) and other species that have earned it the nickname "natural aquarium".

DAY 7 : Curious - Praslin
Beginning of the day in Anse Lazio. Take advantage of this stop to admire one of the most beautiful beaches of the Seychelles. Snorkeling, swimming and other activities are possible during the morning. In the afternoon, you set sail for Mahé. You will spend the night at anchor in the spectacular setting of the Sainte-Anne Marine Park.

DAY 8 : Praslin - Mahé
In the morning, back to Victoria Harbour. Disembarkation at Inter Island Quay at 8:30.

Frequently asked questions

  • How does a charter with Skipper work?

All the skippers we offer are registered and have the necessary professional certificates. They speak English fluently. If you have any special requirements regarding the skipper, please let us know. The skipper is in charge of the navigation and your safety on board. Do not hesitate to take part in the manoeuvres with him, he will be happy to teach you the basics of navigation. Concerning the organization, the skipper sleeps on the boat, either in a separate cabin or in the saloon. The skipper is not in charge of cooking or washing up. On request, a hostess (or cook) can prepare your meals, clean the saloon, your cabins and more generally ensure the good order of the boat. All our cabin cruises include the services, at least, of a skipper and a hostess (unless otherwise specified in the contract).
  • What are the necessary documents for a trip to the Seychelles?

No visa is required. You will need to present a valid passport (at least until the date of departure from Seychelles), be able to prove your solvency on the spot, show proof of accommodation and a return or onward ticket. You will then obtain a short stay visa valid for 3 months. Beyond that, a residence permit will be required.
  • What are the recommended vaccinations to go to the Seychelles?

No vaccine is mandatory for the Seychelles. Vaccinations against hepatitis A and B are sometimes offered.
  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • Is the departure guaranteed aboard this yacht?

One of the specificities of this cruise is that it takes place on board the SeaBird presented above or the SeaStar, a sailing boat offering the same conditions of comfort and services. The departure boat cannot be insured at the time of booking. Departures are still insured at the time of booking. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact your GlobeSailor advisor.
  • What is the currency used in the Seychelles?

The currency in the Seychelles is the Seychelles rupee.

As a foreign national, you can pay in foreign currency (euros or dollars) for your accommodation, transport (car rental, boat or plane trip...), some restaurants, and entrance fees to some sites. Change will nevertheless be given back to you in rupees.
But this payment in foreign currency is not an obligation.

Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere (Visa and MasterCard mainly, American Express and Diners Club a little more rarely), as well as traveller's cheques in large establishments.

The majority of banks are located in Mahé, more precisely in Victoria, at the airport and near Beau Vallon. There are branches on the 2 other main islands (Praslin and La Digue).

It is forbidden to leave the Seychelles with more than 2,000 rupees in your pocket.
  • What does the conservation fee cover?

These conservation fees cover the entrance fees to the islands and marine parks according to the programme:
    - Guided tour of the Vallée de Mai and the mini bus to get to the site,
    - Guided tour of Cousin or Aride depending on the season.

Only the excursion of the Dyke is extra (10 Euros per person for the entrance of the Union Estate park) and the rental of a bicycle or ox-cart directly on the island.
  • What are the conditions of participation in the honeymoon offer?

The couple benefits from a 10% discount on the amount of the cruise (not applicable on storage fees).

Valid within 6 months after the wedding. Proof of marriage may be required.
If you are sailing aboard the Sea Star, honeymoon cabin allocated at no extra charge on the first booking.

(We cannot confirm at the time of booking which boat will be used for the departure, see F.A.Q : Is the departure guaranteed on board this yacht? )
Other surprises are in store on board

This offer cannot be combined with the early booking discount of -10%.
  • What are the payments to be made to confirm my reservation?

To confirm your reservation, you must inform your GlobeSalor advisor who will make an option for you while you collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once your deposit has been received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), from 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A deposit of 100% will be required for any reservation made less than one month before departure. The balance is due 45 days before departure at the latest.
  • What happens in case of cancellation?

In case of cancellation, you must notify your GlobeSailor consultant as soon as possible. Whatever the cause, the following cancellation fees will be due: up to 90 days before departure: 30% /// from 89 to 60 days: 50% /// from 59 to 30 days: 75% /// from 29 days to departure: 100% of the amount of your reservation.
