Itinerary of your cruise

The captain has worked out for you two cruise itineraries to the Cyclades. Both departing from Athens, you will travel through the north or south of this archipelago, with islands that are each as beautiful as the other.

Map
Greece

- Northern Route -
DAY 1: Piraeus (Athens)
Your magnificent ship awaits you in Athens, in the port of Piraeus, to embark between 4 and 8 pm. After setting up your belongings in your cabin, you will explore every corner of this giant of the seas. At around 9:45 pm, you will see the crew set sail and head east.

DAY 2: At sea
You will wake up in the middle of the Aegean Sea and see some of the islands of the Cyclades. While you take pictures of this beautiful landscape the Star Flyer will continue its route in the Icarian Sea.

DAY 3: Kusadasi (Turkey)
This morning, you will arrive in the Samos Strait and will land in Kusadasi in the late morning. This seaside resort formerly called "Neopolis" has beautiful beaches, ideal for relaxing. An optional excursion to the archaeological site of Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also available. This ancient city contains many remains including the library of Celsus, the great theatre and the remains of the temple of Artemis.

DAY 4: Patmos
You dock in Patmos early in the morning. Nicknamed the Jerusalem of the Aegean Sea, this island welcomed the apostle and theologian John who wrote the Apocalypse (last book of the New Testament) there. At the bend of an excursion (optional) you will discover the monastery of Saint John perched on top of a hill. You will also have the opportunity to visit Chora. Situated on a hill, this city offers a magnificent panorama of the port of Skala.

DAY 5 : Amorgos
After breakfast, you set foot ashore at Amorgos. This island of about 125 km² became very popular after the filming of Luc Besson's famous film "The Big Blue". Today, our optional excursion takes you to the oldest monastery in Greece, the Panagia de Hozoviotissa, built in 1017 on the edge of a cliff. You will then go to Chora, the capital of the island dominated by its Venetian castle.

DAY 6 : Mykonos
Welcome to Mykonos, an island renowned for its festive atmosphere and heritage. You will quickly be bewitched by the windmills and their propellers that have been turning since the 16th century. During your stopover, you will be able to stroll through the narrow streets of the Little Venice district. This area, built on the seafront by the Venetians, is full of colourful houses and many bars to refresh yourself at the end of the day.

DAY 7 : Spetses
Let yourself be charmed by the sweet scent of jasmine that emanates from this island, which was home to a major figure of the Greek War of Independence, Laskarina Bouboulina. Strolling around Poseidon Square, you can admire its statue and visit its house, which has now been turned into a museum. History enthusiasts will be delighted to learn about the role played by this woman of character.

DAY 8: Piraeus (Athens)
It's time to say goodbye to the crew and this unforgettable boat. Your disembarkation is scheduled after breakfast, around 7:00 am.

- Southern Itinerary -
DAY 1: Piraeus (Athens)

The crew will meet you in Athens, in the port of Piraeus, between 16h and 20h. Before the welcome cocktail, you will have time to drop off your belongings in your cabin and to browse the Star Flyer from one end to the other. In the evening, the captain will give the order to hoist the sails and set the rudder south-south-east.

DAY 2: At sea
You will spend this second day at sea, sailing between the islands of the Cyclades and those of the Dodecanese archipelago. You can enjoy this sublime panorama from the sun deck and let yourself be lulled by the gentle lapping of the water on the hull.

DAY 3 : Rhodes
You'll make landfall in Rhodes harbor early this afternoon. With its colossus, this island marked the history of antiquity. It was a 33-metre high statue of Helios (sun god). Erected in 292 BC, it was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After only 60 years, it was totally destroyed in an earthquake. You will appreciate the medieval side of Rhodes and the Palace of the Grand Masters built by knights of the Order of St. John.

DAY 4: Bodrum (Turkey)
When you arrive in Bodrum, you will discern St. Peter's Castle. Also built by the Knights of St. John, the castle has been turned into a museum of underwater archaeology. Climbing to the top of one of its 5 towers, you will be amazed by the view of Bodrum Bay. We will offer you an optional guided tour of the town to better understand its history and the different influences it has experienced through the ages.

DAY 5: Dalyan River (Turkey)
Your journey continues on the southwest coast of Turkey, at the mouth of the Dalyan River. You will be able to walk along Istuzu beach, natural habitat of sea turtles and aquatic species (cormorants, sea eagles, pelicans...). This afternoon, our optional excursion will take you to explore the village of Dalyan and discover the tombs dug in the rock of the archaeological site of Caunos.

DAY 6: Santorini
You reach Santorini in the late morning. This volcanic island offers a beautiful sight with its villages set on steep cliffs (Fira, Oia...) and its bright white houses. Its crescent-moon shape is due to a major volcanic eruption that took place more than 3,500 years ago and which is also said to be the origin of the myth of Atlantis. One of our excursions (optional) will take you to the top of the volcano.

DAY 7: Hydra
Hydra, which owes its name to the hydra killed by Heracles, has retained its charm of old. Here, you will not find any car or scooter (except those reserved for civil security). You will be able to stroll in all tranquility in the streets of the city on foot or on donkey back. Thanks to its museums (the Hydra Historical Archives Museum and the Byzantine Museum) history lovers will discover the events that marked the island.

DAY 8: Piraeus (Athens)
Take advantage of your last hours on board to relax on the sun deck and admire the Greek landscape. You will disembark after breakfast at around 7am.

Note : The above mentioned excursions are strictly indicative and optional. During your cruise, the crew will present you with a detailed list of excursions available during your stopovers.
