DAY 1: Skärhamn Marina (Skärhamn)
Your cruise begins at Skärhamn Marina, where the crew will welcome you from 2 pm and outline the week’s programme. Once you’ve settled in, take some time to explore this charming fishing village, with its red boathouses, white-washed streets and the Nordic Watercolour Museum. Round off the day with a dinner of fresh fish in one of the harbour’s restaurants before your first night on board, moored at the quay.

Day 2 to 6: Cruise
Below is a non-exhaustive list of the ports of call you may visit during your cruise:

Once a fishing island, Åstol became a peaceful retreat for affluent residents and visitors in the 1970s. Built entirely of granite, the island’s houses cluster around a harbour basin, with just one shop and a café-restaurant where you can sample Bohuslänsk äggost, a local dessert somewhere between cottage cheese and egg custard.

Marstrand charms visitors with its seaside charm, lively harbour and the imposing Carlsten Fortress. Renowned for its beaches, water sports and regattas favoured by the royal family, the island offers a lively summer atmosphere that makes it one of the must-visit stops on Sweden’s west coast.

Accessible only by boat, Käringön is a pedestrian-only island renowned for its peaceful atmosphere, narrow streets and authentic charm. It boasts several cafés and good restaurants, as well as lovely spots for swimming, ranging from sheltered jetties to family-friendly beaches.

Smögen is one of Sweden’s most iconic fishing villages, famous for its long pier lined with colourful huts and its lively summer atmosphere. Stroll through the fish market, the bustling harbour and the wooden alleyways to enjoy a true Scandinavian postcard scene.

One of the country’s wildest archipelagos, Väderöarna reveals a landscape of windswept rocks, crystal-clear waters and unspoilt nature, home to a large colony of seals. The main island features an inn with a sauna, hot baths and seafood cuisine overlooking the open sea.

DAY 7: Skärhamn Marina (Skärhamn)
On this final day on board, you’ll set sail for Skärhamn Marina, where you’re due to disembark in the late afternoon, around 5 pm.

Below is a typical day’s itinerary:
Morning:
The day begins with a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the Swedish archipelago, perfect for a spot of snorkelling and exploring the rocky seabed. Meanwhile, your hostess prepares breakfast to be enjoyed with a view of the wooded islets. The boat then continues on to a new stop: help the skipper with the manoeuvres or simply enjoy the peace and quiet on board, whether reading, napping on the foredeck or admiring the colourful houses as they pass by. Keep your eyes peeled: porpoises often accompany the boat as it sails along the west coast!

Afternoon:
For lunch, the hostess will treat you to a fresh, delicious meal served on board. The afternoon unfolds at your own pace: stroll through a fishing village with its red huts, walk along the coastal paths, or visit a lively little harbour or a secluded lighthouse. Each stop can be explored at a leisurely pace, bringing you as close as possible to the Nordic landscapes.

Evening:
As the sun sets, enjoy local cuisine at a seaside restaurant. Then linger over a drink, surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere of the Swedish villages and the glow of the northern sky.

All British nationals must present a valid passport to enter the destination country. The passport must be issued within the last 10 years and be valid for at least 3 months after the date of departure

Identity checks have been stepped up at the border with Denmark, particularly on ferry crossings and on buses and trains using the Öresund Bridge.
Those travelling by private vehicle may also be subject to checks.

This information is subject to change by the authorities of the country visited. It is not uncommon for border crossing rules to change. We therefore strongly advise you to refer to the “Foreign travel advice” section of the UK Government website: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

Nationals of other countries should check the formalities with the embassy or consulate of their country of origin.
  • How do I get to Skärhamn Marina?

The cruise departs from Skärhamn, on the island of Tjörn, north of Gothenburg.

The nearest airport is Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT), located approximately 57 km from the marina.

From the airport, it takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach Skärhamn by car or taxi. Several car parks are available in the harbour, but these may be closed during summer events. A long-stay car park is available at the following address: Röavallen, 47195 Skärhamn, located about a 30-minute walk from the harbour.

You can also reach Skärhamn by public transport: the journey takes around 2 hours 30 minutes including changes, and the nearest bus stop to the marina is ‘Kommunhuset’.

Shortly before your departure, you will receive an email containing the crew’s contact details, so that you can contact them on arrival and obtain the exact location of the boat on the day of embarkation.
  • Is my cruise 100% English-speaking?

Please note that this cruise is not exclusively for English-speaking travellers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board our cruises, as we attract an international clientele. This leads to many enriching exchanges and wonderful encounters!
Furthermore, the crew are mainly English-speaking and qualified to provide you with multilingual service.
  • Does the boat sail under sail ?

The catamarans and sailing boats available for charter move slowly in light winds, particularly in summer if the wind is too light or if the sailing conditions are not ideal. Engine assistance is sometimes required to keep to the itinerary’s stopovers and to ensure we have a berth in port or an anchorage for the night. We cannot guarantee a minimum duration of sailing. However, your skipper will do their utmost to sail under sail and involve those who wish to take part in the manoeuvres.
  • What happens if the booking is cancelled?

In the event of cancellation, you must notify your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Regardless of the reason, the following cancellation fees will apply: up to 90 days before departure: 30% /// 89 to 60 days: 50% /// 59 to 30 days: 75% /// 29 days up to departure: 100% of your booking amount.
We advise our customers to take out cancellation insurance with Ouest Assurance: http://www.ouest-assurances.fr
  • What payments do I need to make to confirm my booking?

To confirm your booking, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor, who will hold a place for you until your deposit is received. The booking will only be considered final once your deposit (50% of the booking total) has been received (via bank transfer, PayPal or credit card).
A 100% deposit will be required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
The balance must be paid no later than 45 days before the embarkation date.
