Frequently asked questions

  • What documents are needed for a trip to Croatia?

All French nationals can enter freely with a valid national identity card or passport (for any stay of less than 3 months).

Note: National identity cards issued to adults between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2013 will still be valid for 5 years after the expiry date (indicated on the back). However, we strongly recommend that you favor the use of a passport over an identity card whose expiry date has passed.

This information is communicated subject to modification by the authorities of the country visited. It is not uncommon for the rules for crossing borders to evolve. We therefore strongly advise you to refer to the "travel advice" section of the France Diplomatie site: https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/conseils-aux-voyageurs/
Nationals of other countries should inquire about the formalities at the consulate of their country of origin.
  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • How is my transfer from the airport to the boat organised?

Your cruise includes airport / marina / airport transfers by bus (not private). So that we can better plan this service, we ask you to communicate your flight schedules to us as soon as possible.
  • How does a cruise with Skipper work? And a Hostess?

All the skippers we offer are registered and have the necessary professional certificates. They speak English fluently. If you have any special requirements for the skipper, please let us know. The skipper is responsible for navigation and your safety on board. Do not hesitate to participate with him in the maneuvers, he will be happy to teach you the basics of navigation. Regarding the organization, the skipper sleeps on the boat, either in a separate cabin or in the saloon. All our cabin cruises include the services, at a minimum, of a skipper and a hostess (unless otherwise stated in the contract).
  • Does the boat operate only with the sails?

It depends on the weather. When the winds are strong, the skipper will use the sails to sail silently. On days with calmer winds or to reach the stopovers on schedule, the skipper may need to use the engine. The engine is also used when entering and leaving the marinas. We cannot guarantee a minimum time of using the sails. The skipper will do their best to use the sails as much as possible and involve passengers in manoeuvres.
  • How are meals organized on board the boat?

During your cruise you will benefit from the half-board formula, including breakfasts and lunches. These will be organized and prepared by the hostess / cook. All dinners will be free and at your expense. The skipper and the hostess will be able to advise you on good local restaurants according to your desires and your tastes. The alcoholic drinks offered on the boat are sometimes at an additional cost. Double check the terms and conditions of your quote. Your advisor will be able to provide you with the menus offered on board on request. They are often prepared with fresh, local products. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you are following a special diet.
  • How are the visits and excursions mentioned in the itinerary organized?

The visits and excursions mentioned in the itinerary are suggestions proposed by the amateur. Consequently, we cannot guarantee their availability or communicate the prices to you. The choice and organization of the visits will be to be seen directly on site with your skipper. He will be of good advice to guide you according to your expectations.
  • What are the regulations to make to confirm my reservation?

To confirm your reservation, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will ask an option for you the time to collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once your deposit has been received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A 100% deposit will be requested for any reservation less than one month before departure. The balance will be payable no later than 45 days before the embarkation date.
