Map
Greece

Day 1: Athens - Poros (about 30 nautical miles)
The crew will meet you at 14:30 at the Alimos Kalamaki marina. Your boat is located on pontoon 9, between place 914-927. You will be welcomed with a welcome drink before attending the briefing of your skipper and leaving the moorings around 3pm. A lunch prepared with local produce will be served during the crossing. You will anchor in Poros at the end of the day. This island will seduce you with its old-fashioned charm and pastel-coloured houses and traditional taverns. Dinner at your leisure.

Day 2: Poros - Hermion (about 21 nautical miles)
You will leave Poros and head for the Tselevinia Islands for a relaxing stop. You can take the opportunity to jump into the blue waters and take a dip before lunch. You set sail again towards the south of the Peloponnese. You will stop at Hermione, a fishing village, mentioned by Homer in the "Catalogue of Ships". Once ashore, you will have free time to explore each alley of the old town. Dinner at leisure.

Day 3: Hermione - Spetses (about 11 nautical miles)
You set sail again towards Spetses, an island with a sweet jasmine scent, very popular among Athenian high society. You will anchor in the old port before exploring the island on foot or even by horse-drawn carriage. You can discover the lively district of Dapia, with its shops, cafes and restaurants, and also see the impressive Poseidonion Hotel built in 1914 to develop tourism. Dinner at your leisure.

Day 4: Spetses - Dokos (about 5 nautical miles)
Breakfast, then departure for Dokos, a wild and uninhabited island completely untouched by tourism. A favourite place for sailors, its idyllic anchorages, such as the bay of Skintos, will make for an enchanting stopover. Take a seat around the table and enjoy the delicious local dishes prepared by your hostess, then get out your fins, mask and snorkel to observe the extraordinary sights under the water. Dinner on board.

Day 5: Dokos - Hydra (about 7 nautical miles)
The crew hoists up the anchor and heads to one of Greece's most beautiful islands, Hydra. You will appreciate the peaceful atmosphere that prevails on this island where motor vehicles were banned years ago. As your day is free, you can explore the island at your own pace and discover the Assumption Monastery, the Museum of Archives and many others. Climbing to the top of the hill overlooking the city, you will have a breathtaking view of the port. At the end of the day, the colors are even more spectacular. Lunch and dinner at your leisure.

Day 6: Hydra - Perdika (about 22 nautical miles)
Your cruise continues a little further north. You will stop in Perdika, a charming fishing village located southwest of Aegina. Its rocky beaches are beautiful. We recommend you pick a spot on one of them and take a swim or relax under the warm sunshine. You can taste delicious local seafood by visiting the fish market which is located near the port. This evening you will enjoy dinner at your leisure while admiring the sunset.

Day 7: Perdika - Athens (about 21 nautical miles)
Why not start your day with a morning swim? You will spend the morning on Moni (nature reserve, located just 1 mile from Perdika) and meet hundreds of peacocks, unique inhabitants of the island. Moni’s crystal-clear water is perfect for a snorkeling session. After lunch, it will be time to set sail again for Athens. You will dock at the marina around 18:00. To end your trip in style, we recommend a short getaway to the ancient city to visit Acropolis and its archaeological treasures. Dinner at your leisure.

Day 8: Athens
Your disembarkation is scheduled after breakfast, around 9am.

Please note: It is possible that your crew will not be present on board for the last night at dock. Indeed, the crew enjoys spending time in a real bed between cruises. In this case, the skipper will give you all necessary instructions to follow to have your cold breakfast before departing the boat.

    Fantastic week sailing!

We had an amazing time!We were three families who didn’t know each other before the holiday and we all got on wonderfully and were so sad when the week ended!!Mike is the best skipper you could ever have, always putting our safety first and very entertaining 🤣Magda our hostess cooked us the best healthy and home cooked Greek food,we wished we could have her at home. The cabins were very clean and kept cool and my advice is the Saronic Islands are the best choice as the winds are no way as strong as in the Cyclades making sailing relaxing and fun for both experienced and unexperienced sailors. The islands are beautiful and much less crowded than the well known islands of the Cyclades.A holiday to remember with beautiful sunsets and spectacular views!!Thank you!

Good experience overall but would choose the

Welcome : We arrived at the boat slightly early and were turned away - it was a scorching hot day and we wondered around finding a place to wait by accident. Recommendation - direct people to the holding site and not the boat. The welcome from the skipper and hostess was very warm.

Boat condition - excellent. The cabin was spacious enough for 2 with an en suite

Price/quality ratio - the cost is high and does not include additional costs to pay once you board and also a pretty hefty 'tip' (expected 10-15% of the cost) for the crew once you finish. This is optional but felt like an obligation. The skipper and hostess were outstanding - awesome charismatic people really made the trip special

Destination - we enjoyed the trip, particularly Poros and Hydra but would not choose the Saronic Islands again. We would go to the Cyclades instead. It was disappointing to note when snorkelling how dead the sealife is in the Saronic Islands i.e. there is none :(

    Wonderful sailing experience

Our experience aboard the Marmar exceeded our expectations. The boat was very well maintained and well stocked. Captain Mike and hostess Magda were very welcoming, hospitable and amiable. We knew from the start that we would be in safe, caring and competent hands for the entire week. Captain Mike would revue and solicit our feedback on each day’s route and planned activities, which helped to personalize the journey.
Hostess Magda was very accommodating with our meal preferences and dietary needs. Her menus reflected Grecian comfort food and were always delicious. Our group agreed that the trip would not have been as special as it was if not for Captain Mike & Magda.

    Jack and ema were wonderful

We really enjoyed our time on the sea. Jack and Ema were so friendly and knowledgeable of each port. They made recommendations on where to go and made sure that we were taken care of the entire time.

Ema’s meals were delicious and she always created a peaceful atmosphere.

Honestly the best holiday we have every had!

From the first email enquiry, to stepping off the boat with a heavy heart...this was a dream come true. AMAZING service from Francesca with the quotes and booking and for arranging something extra special for my birthday on board too.
The boat was excellent and plenty of room for all to either have some alone time, or be with the other guests. Very comfortable cabins with plenty of space and many options for seating, lying down, sun tanning on board.

Jack and Emma were legends and we had so many laughs and they were the perfect skipper and hostess and just lovely people. The experience and knowledge they both have in so many different topics was brilliant and we couldn't imagine another sailing trip without them.

Emma fed us the most delicious and varied menu. All so so good and was always so much food that nobody ever went hungry...and she did all of this with a massive smile on her face too.

Could not recommend this experience more highly! Thank you for make my dream of a sailing holiday come true, and giving me the best 50th birthday I could ever imagine....we WILL be doing another cruise, that's guaranteed.

Great cruise with a great crew

Emma & Jack are a great crew, skilled and friendly. They help, support and cuddle the people on the boat across the week spent in the lovely Island of gulf of Saronico.
Special mention to the boat Marmar, kept by George in a very good shape.
    Lovely first week of honeymoon.

    Thanks Emma & Jack :-)

    Fantastic experience

    This was a dream vacation.
Our skipper Jack is a true sailor, Very knowledgeable of the Saronic Islands, super skilled at sailing. He kept us well informed of the schedule all along the way. We had some higher level winds the week of our trip, and he adjusted the schedule slightly so that we could take advantage of getting good time under sail, but still found a quiet protected cove that would allow all of us to have a great night sleep.
Hostess Emma, is warm and friendly, putting everyone at ease. She is a great cook, the meals were all fantastic. She is also very knowledgeable of the islands and restaurants and shops, giving helpful tips at each stop.

Before boarding we were a little unsure how the comfort of the cabins would be. Happy to say the beds are approximately Queen size, easily accommodates 2 tall adults. There were enough cubbies and drawers to put all our clothes and toiletries in without issue, but would recommend that you pack light. (It is a little like glamping.)
The boat itself has many different areas to lounge or sit. It allows the passengers the choice of interacting or getting time to themselves. Also good options for sun or shade.

The very best part of the trip was all the swimming and snorkeling. The water is just incredible. There are multiple opportunities to get into the water each day. I highly recommend taking advantage of every stop..

Awesome way to meet new friends (cabin booking)

We booked a cabin and was concerned with the tight quarters with strangers. I would say don't fear! It was a wonderful way to make new friends and the boat is roomy enough that you can have your privacy or hang out and visit. Captain Jack and Emma were wonderful in insuring everyone was safe and having fun.

I would definitely do this trip again.

An unforgettable week in the saronic gulf with captain mike and magdalena

We spent a wonderful week sailing the Saronic Gulf on a catamaran. Captain Mike and Magdalena made every day safe, fun and full of thoughtful details. We discovered charming islands, hidden coves and enjoyed breathtaking sunsets. Sharing this journey with Finola and Matthew from the UK, and Theo and Lizzie from the US, added joy and friendship. Truly the best way to discover Greece!
The only point for improvement would be to address the unpleasant smell coming from the cabin bathrooms — solving this would make an already great experience truly perfect.

    Croisiere golf saronique

Magda igual, gran chef y excelente persona.

A magnificent cruise with a skipper "Mike" and a hostess "Magda" who were top-notch, always attentive to the entire crew. Very beautiful stops morning, noon, and night with always great locations. A very well-maintained and comfortable boat both in port and at sea, perfectly suited to the sailing program and the number of people on board. A must-do and redo with family or friends...

    Beautiful experience

    Automatically translated.

A wonderful week on a beautiful boat with a great crew. A big thank you to Mike and Magda who were truly fantastic. The only advice I can give to improve the experience is that in some cases you are forced to dock in ports too early, so there is little time to enjoy the boat, especially in the afternoon. It wouldn't be bad to plan for at least 2 nights at anchor instead of one.

    Automatically translated.

It was my first time on a boat, and now I'm already looking forward to the next opportunity!

The cruise went smoothly. A great experience.

The hostess, Magda, prepared us delicious meals throughout the week.

The local skipper, Vassilis, was happy to recommend restaurants on the islands and in the towns where we stopped.

    I especially liked Moni Island!

It's just a pity that we didn't set the sails :(

Cruise in greece, saronic gulf, catamaran

    Automatically translated.

The organization was impeccable and precise, starting from the relationship with all the members of GlobeSailor with whom I interacted for the booking of the trip, all very professional and competent.

Regarding the trip, Mike and Magda, respectively skipper and hostess, were extremely friendly and welcoming, making all guests feel at ease and ready to enjoy the vacation in total relaxation.

The catamaran was spacious and well-equipped, including fins and masks to enjoy the numerous opportunities for snorkeling, and with many areas to relax and enjoy the sun. The cabins were comfortable and clean, equipped with towels, bed linens, and beach towels.

The scheduled stops along the route were carefully chosen and shared before departure, allowing us to explore beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. Each destination had something special to offer. Particularly beautiful was the stop at Hydra, with its lovely streets and very characteristic alleys.

Magda, our hostess, did an excellent job. Every meal was a delight, prepared with fresh and local ingredients.

In conclusion, the catamaran trip was an extraordinary experience that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience the sea in an authentic and relaxing way.

In short, a perfect organization; 4 stars (and not 5) because the destination is really beautiful but not as much as San Blas. But go there, you definitely won't regret it!! The small villages are splendid and the boat is super comfortable.

For a first experience, it's a real success!

    Automatically translated.

For our 30th wedding anniversary, my wife and I wanted to do something a bit special, outside of our usual habits. We thought about a cruise, but being on a cruise ship didn't really appeal to us. Having the habit of taking vacations in B&Bs, we thought that the more intimate formula of a catamaran with 3 other couples on board would suit us better. And we were not disappointed! We were worried about being cramped together, but that was really not the case. There are enough places on the boat for everyone to find a spot that suits them.

In our opinion, the true driving force behind the success of this experience, aside from the ports we visited or the postcard-like swimming spots, is certainly the presence of the couple Emma-Jack who took care of us during this week. One might tend to talk about Jack, the skipper, known by everyone in all the ports, thanks to his look and undeniable charisma (the number of years he has been sailing certainly plays a role too :-)), which is very reassuring from a navigation standpoint. But we would like to highlight Emma who, in addition to participating in the maneuvers, also takes care of the provisions and cooks excellently! She gives advice on walks/visits/restaurants at each stop (in 3 languages if needed: FR, ES, EN). Her trademark: a permanent smile.

If you have any apprehensions about this type of trip, it's with them that you should try!

    Vacanza favolosa!!

    Great sailing week

    Automatically translated.

The team with James and Maria was simply perfect. We were pampered and were able to enjoy a wonderful week. Maria is a very good cook and even baked bread and cakes herself. There were always fruit platters, and the food was very varied. The itinerary was almost perfect. One might consider not visiting the island of Methana anymore as the place is not very nice. It would be better to switch to the town of Agina as this little town has more to offer. Otherwise, it was a perfect week with plenty of wind and sailing opportunities.

    Cruise in the saronic islands

    Automatically translated.

The stay on the boat was wonderful. The crew was very professional but also kind and helpful. We felt at home very quickly. We were 7 passengers on the boat. The boat was spacious for all 7. The cabin was nice with plenty of storage and clean. The only downside was that the charging port for the phone didn't work all the time. The USB port worked without interruption. So, we recommend bringing a USB cable (not USB-C). The toilets use seawater, which can sometimes lead to odors, but it's not bothersome. Water should be used very carefully - there is only a limited amount of water on the boat.

We really enjoyed the islands we visited and the time we had to do so, as well as the anchorages in very beautiful places.

We highly recommend this cruise, which made us want to set off again very quickly.

We easily found the location of our catamaran, and the directions provided by the organization were excellent. The welcome was five-star, and Emma's smile immediately put us at ease, followed by the explanations from skipper Big Jack, who turned out to be a responsible, competent, and very friendly person! The boat was new, exceptional, clean, and had very comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces. The cabin is cozy and bright. The itinerary is perfect, and transfers no longer than 2-3 hours make sailing enjoyable, and being in a different place every day makes the vacation dynamic. We were also lucky to find new travel companions with whom we shared a week in perfect harmony and joy. I want to emphasize that Jack and Emma made everything more magical! We would do it again and highly recommend it. Congratulations!

Wonderful cruise in the saronic islands

    Automatically translated.

First of all, we were very well welcomed upon our arrival by our crew: Emma and Jack. The boat is in very good condition and well equipped (wifi, air conditioning, plenty of storage in the cabin, bathroom in each cabin, paddle…). The cruise program is ideal because it is varied (more touristy or wilder islands, boat at dock or at anchor, longer or shorter stops on the islands…). In short, the cruise was magnificent, but what really made the difference was our crew! Emma and Jack are very warm, caring, and always willing to please us. Emma prepared wonderful breakfasts, appetizers, and lunches. Jack is an exceptional skipper with whom you feel safe. Our whole family grew fond of them, and we really hope to see them again on a future cruise or elsewhere… Finally, we also thank GlobeSailor for making all this possible!

Thanks to Jack and Emma, warm, welcoming, and very professional, who pampered us on this comfortable and well-maintained boat, with good comfort where everyone finds their place to fully enjoy the beauty of each carefully chosen and anticipated stop. We appreciated every day of our cruise. Emma, attentive to our needs, knows how to prepare generous and friendly meals; Jack, as an experienced captain attentive to everyone, will amaze you by introducing you to each of the proposed islands, in their most charming ports and anchorages, while providing us with privileged access and pleasant time on land with good tips to discover each place. A week of true relaxation and camaraderie with the other participants in this cruise, who also contributed to its success. A first experience that calls for more. Charlotte and Cédric.

Everything was great, from the reception upon arrival at the boat, the overall cleanliness, the excellent food, and a very good captain. The cabins are spacious and comfortable, at least the ones at the stern, which is where we were. 100% recommended

An unforgettable cruise in the saronic gulf

    Automatically translated.

The catamaran was comfortable, spacious, air-conditioned (except in one or two ports where it was not possible to connect the boat to electricity) and we had wifi!
The welcome on board and the various little attentions throughout the cruise particularly touched us.
The stops in the ports were very pleasant as they allowed us to visit the islands, go shopping, or have dinner in small restaurants!
The skipper and the hostess on board (Jack and Emma) are absolutely exceptional! Jack, a lover of the sea and an excellent navigator, ensured our safety and comfort on board with Emma's help. Always smiling, friendly, attentive, helpful, and dedicated, they made this cruise an unforgettable moment! Thanks to Emma for her cooking and her excellent Greek dishes!
The islands of the Saronic Gulf are beautiful and the sea is very warm at the beginning of August (28°)! A slight preference for the islands of Hydra and Spetses, which should not be missed under any circumstances!!!
We really enjoyed this cruise for its balance between sailing time, swimming, and stops in the ports for visiting the islands!

The silence of the sea and the sound of the wind!

    Automatically translated.

The welcome and management by George the owner, and the moments with the crew Jack and Emma were excellent! We boarded a spacious catamaran with all the comforts, both in terms of space and the use of air conditioning, which is essential for the summer! Jack is an excellent skipper, kind and always available, and Emma is an excellent cook with joy in her heart! The islands visited are fascinating, and the option to dine at a typical restaurant is optimal for spending unforgettable moments! Thank you all because we will fondly remember this wonderful vacation! Kiss Simona & Luca

An unforgettable cruise in the saronic islands

    Automatically translated.

The skipper and the hostess took great care of us throughout the cruise. They were perfect in every way: kindness, good humor, helpfulness, ...
The itinerary choices were wise and very well suited to the weather conditions (northern wind at the end of the week).
And the boat, a Lagoon 450, was very comfortable and very pleasant for the stay.

Wonderful catamaran cruise in the saronic gulf

    Automatically translated.

The concept of cabin cruising with a skipper and hostess remains a must. A true vacation! The boat is very comfortable. We were also lucky to have an extraordinary skipper (Jack) and hostess (Emma). Don't forget to bring a buoy or an inflatable mattress to enjoy swimming in the coves even more. A few points still need improvement to be top-notch, such as the quantity of coffee doses, or the white and rosé wine that was lacking (there was red wine left as it is less appreciated in this heat). Also, the islands are wilder and the towns smaller than in the Cyclades (you either like it or you don't).

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I use those services as an addition to my cruise?

    YES!
Our services are available to all clients who embark on our cruise. Our tailor-made offers are adapted to your needs and your budget.

We have created two fully customisable offers:
    - Serenity Service: Booking of your flight tickets.
    - Extension Service: Booking of your accommodation (hotel, house, villa, etc.) and/or complementary activities such as excursions, guided tours, car rental, etc.

Our dedicated advisors will be happy to assist you in your holiday planning.
  • What documents do I need in order to travel to Greece ?

You don't need any sailing licence. For stays of under 3 months you will just need a valid passport or ID.
  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • How can I arrange my transfer from the airport to the boat?

Don't forget to foward us your flight details. You can reach the catamaran in Marina Alimos by taxi (approx. 30min). The crew and base manager will welcome you on your arrival.
  • What does a skipper do? And what about a hostess?

All the skippers which we offer are qualified, have the necessary professional licenses and speak fluent English. If you have any particular demands regarding a skipper make sure to let us know.
The skipper is in charge of navigation and your safety on board. Feel free to try out some of the manoeuvres with him; he will be happy to teach you the basics of sailing.
Regarding sleeping arrangements, the skipper will sleep on board, in a seperate cabin.
The hostess/cook will prepare your meals, clean the saloon area and make sure the boat is kept tidy.
  • Does the boat operate only with the sails?

It depends on the weather. When the winds are strong, the skipper will use the sails to sail silently. On days with calmer winds or to reach the stopovers on schedule, the skipper may need to use the engine. The engine is also used when entering and leaving the marinas. We cannot guarantee a minimum time of using the sails. The skipper will do their best to use the sails as much as possible and involve passengers in manoeuvres.
  • How does the half board work?

This cruise in Greece includes half board. Your hostess will organise breakfasts and lunches with fresh and local produce. Wine is included in the lunchtime meal. Dinners will be onshore, each one of you is free to do as you wish.
A dinner is still planned on the day of arrival aboard the boat, and a breakfast will be served on the last day before leaving the catamaran around 9am.
Alcoholic beverages (other than wine) are available at an additionable cost. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you follow a specific diet.
  • Who are Mike and Magda, your crew?

During your one-week cruise, you will sail alongside an experienced and dynamic crew.
Michal, your skipper is Polish. He has been sailing catamarans and monohulls for over 15 years. Over the years and through a multitude of voyages (Greece, Croatia, Turkey, Tanzania, Sweden, etc.), he has accumulated vast nautical miles and valuable experience. Greece is one of his favourite sailing destinations and his vast knowledge of the navigation area will allow you to discover the most beautiful places of the Saronic Gulf.

Magda, your hostess is also Polish. She spent her life working as a nurse, until she changed career to combine her caring nature and her love of the sea. She now sails the Agean Sea as a hostess/cook on catamarans and monohulls. She will make you delicious meals with local produce.

Your crew is fluent in English and Magda even speaks some French.
  • Why should you tip the crew?

It is a very common gesture from both Greeks and tourists to tip the crew. The amount is usually between 5% to 10% of the total service (although the amount is at your discretion according to the service). Our crew (skipper and hostess) work hard each week to give you the best holiday memories. So if at the end of the cruise you feel the crew did an excellent job and lived up to your expectations, let them know by tipping them well! This is both rewarding and encouraging for them.
  • What payments must I make in order to confirm my booking?

To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?

If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
