Itinerary

Map
To avoid the flood of tourists as well as the Meltemi wind, which is particularly strong in the Cyclades during the summer months, GlobeSailor has put together a 7-day itinerary for the Saronic Gulf, enabling you to discover some of the Mediterranean's most beautiful gems. We've kept cruising and navigation periods short and confined to the morning to let you make the most of the destinations, the local culture and of course... to give you time to relax. This cruise is sure to keep everyone happy!
Day 1: Athens - Poros (about 30 nautical miles)
The crew will meet you at 14:30 at the Alimos Kalamaki marina. Your boat is located on pontoon 9, between place 914-927. You will be welcomed with a welcome drink before attending a briefing with your skipper. Around 3:00 pm, you will cast off for a first swim break in Aegina, an ancient maritime and trading city of Ancient Greece. A lunch prepared with local produce will be served during the crossing. You will anchor in Poros at the end of the day. This island will seduce you with its old-fashioned charm and pastel-coloured houses and traditional taverns. You will have dinner in a local restaurant at your wish.

Day 2: Poros - Hermion (about 21 nautical miles)
You will leave Poros and head for the Tselevinia Islands for a relaxing stop. You can take the opportunity to jump into the blue waters and take a dip before lunch. You set sail again towards the south of the Peloponnese. You will stop at Hermione, a fishing village, mentioned by Homer in the "Catalogue of Ships". Once ashore, you will have free time to explore each alley of the old town. Dinner at leisure.

Day 3 : Hermione - Spetses (about 11 nautical miles)
You set sail again towards Spetses, an island with a sweet jasmine scent, very popular among Athenian high society. You will anchor in the old port before exploring the island on foot or even by horse-drawn carriage. You can discover the lively district of Dapia, with its shops, cafes and restaurants, and also see the impressive Poseidonion Hotel built in 1914 to develop tourism. Dinner of your choice.

Day 4: Spetses - Dokos (about 5 nautical miles)
Breakfast, then departure for Dokos, a wild and uninhabited island completely untouched by tourism. A favourite place for sailors, its idyllic anchorages, such as the bay of Skintos, will make for an enchanting stopover. Take a seat around the table and enjoy the delicious local dishes prepared by your hostess, then get out your fins, mask and snorkel to observe the extraordinary sights under the water. Dinner on board.

Day 5: Dokos - Hydra (about 7 nautical miles)
The crew hoists up the anchor and heads to one of Greece's most beautiful islands, Hydra. You will appreciate the peaceful atmosphere that prevails on this island where motor vehicles were banned years ago. As your day is free, you can explore the island at your own pace and discover the Assumption Monastery, the Museum of Archives and many others. Climbing to the top of the hill overlooking the city, you will have a breathtaking view of the port. At the end of the day, the colors are even more spectacular. Lunch and dinner are free.

Day 6: Hydra - Perdika (about 22 nautical miles)
Your cruise continues a little further north. You will stop in Perdika, a charming fishing village located southwest of Aegina. Its rocky beaches are beautiful. We recommend you pick a spot on one of them and take a swim or relax under the warm sunshine. You can taste delicious local seafood by visiting the fish market which is located near the port. This evening you will enjoy your free dinner while admiring the sunset.

Day 7: Perdika - Athens (about 21 nautical miles)
Why not start your day with a morning swim? You will spend the morning on Moni (nature reserve, located just 1 mile from Perdika) and meet hundreds of peacocks, unique inhabitants of the island. Moni’s crystal-clear water is perfect for a snorkeling session. After lunch, it will be time to set sail again for Athens. You will dock at the marina around 18:00. To end your trip in style, we recommend a short getaway to the ancient city to visit Acropolis and its archaeological treasures. Dinner as your wish on land.

Day 8 : Athens
Your disembarkation is scheduled after breakfast, around 09:00.
Your stops:
Athens > Poros > Hermione > Spetses > Dokos > Hydra > Perdika > Athens

FAQ

It is a very common gesture from both Greeks and tourists to tip the crew. The amount is usually between 5% to 10% of the total service (although the amount is at your discretion according to the service). Our crew (skipper and hostess) work hard each week to give you the best holiday memories. So if at the end of the cruise you feel the crew did an excellent job and lived up to your expectations, let them know by tipping them well! This is both rewarding and encouraging for them.

We have created two fully customisable offers:

Our dedicated advisors will be happy to assist you in your holiday planning.
During your week-long sailing excursion, you will sail alongside a young and dynamic crew.

Jack, your skipper, is of English origin. He has been sailing for over 10 years on catamarans and monohulls. He acquired his experience and know-how through regattas, sailing, and convoying across the Caribbean and Mediterranean. His knowledge of the sailing area will allow you to discover the most beautiful ports of call in the Saronic Gulf.

Emma, your hostess, is of French origin, but also speaks English and Spanish very well. She is a "people person" and worked for many years in winter sports resorts and campsites. This passionate cook discovered the profession of hostess onboard a catamaran in the British Virgin Islands. She will concoct delicious local dishes for the greatest pleasure of your taste buds.
Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
This cruise in Greece includes half board. Your hostess will organise breakfasts and lunches with fresh and local produce. Wine is included in the lunchtime meal. Dinners will be onshore, each one of you is free to do as you wish.
A dinner is still planned on the day of arrival aboard the boat, and a breakfast will be served on the last day before leaving the catamaran around 9am.
Alcoholic beverages (other than wine) are available at an additionable cost. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you follow a specific diet.
If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 30%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
All the skippers which we offer are qualified, have the necessary professional licenses and speak fluent English. If you have any particular demands regarding a skipper make sure to let us know.
The skipper is in charge of navigation and your safety on board. Feel free to try out some of the manoeuvres with him; he will be happy to teach you the basics of sailing.
Regarding sleeping arrangements, the skipper will sleep on board, in a seperate cabin.
The hostess (or cook) will prepare your meals, clean the saloon area and the cabins and make sure the boat is kept tidy.
Don't forget to foward us your flight details. You can reach the catamaran in Marina Alimos by taxi (approx. 30min). The crew and base manager will welcome you on your arrival.
To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding.
You don't need any sailing licence. For stays of under 3 months you will just need a valid passport or ID.

Une croisière très bien organisée !
Chaque jour, une baignade dans des criques était possible avant de rejoindre le prochain port ou mouillage. Cela permettait de découvrir à chaque fois un cadre différent.
