1 week phuket cruise

Thane Dec 2025

The charter company was great. Very helpful and attentive to our needs. We rented a smaller older boat since there were only two of us. It performed well but has the normal glitches of a charter boat that is mostly motored when you try to seriously sail it.

The weather was great and we were able to sail every day. One leg was a 28 NM power reach from Koh Roi to Ao Muong followed. We followed it up with a 3 hour dash from Ao Muong to Maya Bay in Phi Phi Lak. Winds for much better than forecast.

We were able to stay overnight at Koh Hong in Phang Na Bay with a day stop at James Bond Island. Overnight at Secret Beach on the back side of Koh Po Da with a lunch stop ad Koh Hong Krabi. Phuket has to many great spots to visit to get them all into one week. Planning to go back soon and see more.

A happy charterer!

Jonathan Jul 2025

The Base is very well run with a good technical support team. The boat was clean and ready to go when we arrived, with the exception of an autopilot glitch which was remedied very promptly.
The boat was as expected with all systems except the bow thruster working. (BT is not really needed on this boat)
Running rigging was not worn or stiff and sails in good condition.
I suggested to put some anti-skid strips on the inside of the dinghy as it becomes very slick!
Phuket is a superb cruising destination and one can find sheltered anchorages in both SW and NE monsoon seasons.

An exotic destination. You won't find a marina, but the views and landscapes are unforgettable.

We had a perfect stay in Thailand. The sailboat matches the descriptions and photos. The local company provides impeccable service, both in terms of comfort on the boat and in their availability and assistance with itinerary decisions.

Great service

Alistair Nov 2019

Very helpful and friendly staff at the base. Adam advised expertly on route and good places to stop.

Yacht Haven Marina is a great facility with showers and a nice restaurant.

Boat was exactly as expected.

There is a not a real supermarket at the marina, just a very small shop.
A €50 return taxi is required to get to the Tesco or Macros for provisions. Bottled water is very expensive on the islands once you are sailing.

Phuket during the sw monsoon

Jonathan Sep 2025

The fuller drum failed on day 2 however the Base sent 2 techs to repair that as soon as was practical.

Out of 7 days (in the rainy season) we had 2 days heavy showers, 2 days light showers and the rest champagne sailing. For experienced sailors who don't mind getting wet I feel that Phuket in the rainy season offers a good chance at some fine sailing.

Worthwhile trip

Graeme May 2019

The whole process of check in and hand over the boat went very well management and staff were very helpful we got off to very smooth trip
Thailand is an excellent place to do a cruise with plenty of places to go
Phi Phi island anchorage is very crowded but well worth it
Looking back i would have spent extra and hired a cat instead of a monohull. During summer spend extra and get a boat with an AC
