Welcome aboard the MS Cyrano de Bergerac! This 110-metre-long boat has 4 decks, 1 of which is entirely dedicated to cabins (main deck). The middle deck has a reception area (meeting place for your departures on excursions), a restaurant and a lounge/bar with a dance floor and panoramic view. At the rear of the upper deck, you can sip a cocktail on the terrace. The sun deck allows you to relax on comfortable armchairs or lie down on deckchairs. It is also the perfect place to admire the scenery.

DAY 1 : Bordeaux - Cussac-Fort-Médoc
Boarding begins at 6pm. After discovering your cabin, the captain invites you to a welcome cocktail to introduce you to the crew. It is then time to cast off to Pauillac, the capital of the Médoc wine region. After a few miles on the Garonne, you will reach the Gironde estuary and sail alongside some of its islands (Macau, Bouchaud, Patiras...). You will arrive at Cussac-Fort-Médoc (located on the left bank of the Gironde) in the evening. Dinner and night on board.

Day 2 : Cussac-Fort-Médoc – Royan
After breakfast, we offer an optional excursion (about 4 hours):

  • A discovery of the Grands Crus of the Médoc: you will reach this magnificent wine region by bus and cross different appellations (such as: Saint-Julien or the Haut-Médoc...). You will also discover some renowned castles, including the Lafite-Rothschild, Latour and Mouton-Rothschild, and enjoy a wine tasting* in one of the estates.
Back on board, the boat resumes its course on the estuary of the Gironde towards Royan. You will pass Meschers-sur-Gironde and its famous caves. Upon arrival in Royan (in the afternoon), you will be invited to participate in a (free) excursion to explore this seaside resort.
  • Royan and its waterfront to explore this "city of art and history". After a panoramic tour through a mix of 50s architecture and 19th-century villas, you'll have time for yourself.
Enjoy dinner on board and a dance party.

DAY 3 : Royan - Libourne
Today, our optional excursion (about 10 hours) takes you to two maritime cities:
  • The maritime cities of Rochefort and La Rochelle; Rochefort is a city with an exciting history. It was built by Colbert at the request of Louis XIV to become the "largest arsenal of the Ponant". Explore Rochefort's historic centre, its arsenal, its royal rope factory... You then leave for La Rochelle. During your guided tour of the old town and the port, you will see the Grosse Horloge, the Saint-Louis cathedral, the 19th century market and many others. Then take advantage of your free time to explore La Rochelle at your leisure.
A bus will take you back to the ship at the end of the day. You will have dinner while the boat sails on the Dordogne river to Libourne. Night on board.

Day 4 : Libourne – Bordeaux
This morning’s program includes two optional excursions (about 3-4 hours):
  • Saint-Émilion, a guide will take you through the village’s underground passages while telling you the exciting story that has linked people and wine for centuries. You will then go to the sublime monolithic church, built in the 12th century in limestone. It is easily recognizable thanks to its bell tower 68 meters high. Will you have the courage to climb its 196 steps to admire the view of the city? Your visit continues in a vineyard where you will discover the different stages of wine making. You will finish with a wine tasting*.
  • Libourne by bike and wine tasting. Enjoy a guided tour of Libourne, the former English royal bastide where you can admire the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church and the tower of the great port. Then, discover by bike a wine estate of the Pomerol appellation where you will participate in a wine tasting.
Back on board and sailing to Bordeaux with an arrival scheduled for late afternoon.
Free evening in Bordeaux.

DAY 5 : Bordeaux - Cadillac - Bordeaux
This morning, you are sailing on the Garonne river in the direction of Cadillac. Relax on the sun loungers on the sun deck or sip a cocktail at the bar. When you disembark, you can choose between two optional excursions (approximately 4 hours):
  • The guided tour of the Roquetaillade Castle, a medieval fortress classified as a historical monument. You will be won over by the decoration and the choice of furniture in the flats, made by Viollet Le Duc in the 19th century. It was also the location for the shooting of illustrious films such as "Fantomas contre Scotland Yard" (with Jean Marais and Louis de Funès) and "Le Pacte des Loups" (with Vincent Cassel and Jean Yanne). You will stop in Sauternes for a wine tasting*. You will then return to Cadillac, for a guided tour of this town founded in the 13th century by Jean de Grailly (seneschal of Aquitaine).
  • The gourmet walk in Cadillac is a guided walking tour (about 8 km) along the banks of the Garonne. During this tour you will see the bastide town of Cadillac, fishermen's huts, the unmissable Ducal Castle and some vineyards. Afterwards, you will enjoy a small wine tasting* with local specialties in a family run business.
In the afternoon, you will sail along the Garonne to Bordeaux.
Dinner, followed by a gala evening.

Day 6 : Bordeaux - Arcachon Bay – Bordeaux
Three optional excursions are offered today.
  • The escapade in the Arcachon Bay (day trip) allows you to discover the oyster world thanks to the visit of the Maison de l'huitre and its museum located on the port of Larros. Lunch at the restaurant, then departure to Arcachon. You will board a small boat for a relaxing stroll on the basin. You will then climb the 102 meters that lead to the top of the Dune du Pilat and enjoy a superb panoramic view of the basin.
  • Bordeaux, the Chartrons district, the Wine and Trade Museum and wine tasting. Stroll through the charming Chartrons district, an emblematic place that combines bourgeoisie and bohemian spirit. Then, you will discover the Wine and Trading Museum which is full of valuable information on the history of Bordeaux and its wines. The tour will conclude with a wine tasting.
  • Les Bassins des Lumières.
    A guide will show you the Bassin des Lumières, the largest digital art centre in the world. They offer impressive immersive digital exhibitions highlighting the great artists of art history as well as contemporary creation.
In the evening, oyster tasting on board. Lively evening.

DAY 7 : Bordeaux
Your disembarkation is scheduled after breakfast at 9:00 am.

  • For an optimal organization of the cruise, the organization of the excursions can be modified according to the tide.
  • Depending on the availability of the landing stages, the stopover initially planned in Libourne can be replaced by that of Bourg.

    All EU nationals must be in possession of a valid national identity card OR passport.
    Non-EU nationals should consult their embassy or consulate.
  • Is everyone on board English-speaking?

    Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
    Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • How are the excursions during the cruise?


    The excursions presented in the itinerary are optional (unless otherwise stated). They can be booked at the same time as the cruise. In this case, you will receive a 5% discount (applicable only at the time of booking).

    Important : excursions are guaranteed for a minimum of 25 participants, below this base a price adjustment can be made on board.

      • During a dramatised walking tour you will discover the town of Pauillac, its history, its architecture, its folklore... At the "La Rose de Pauillac" cellar you will attend a sound and light show, "l'Odyssée de la Rose": a unique, dreamlike and sensory visit in the large vat room. You will discover the cycle of the vine through the seasons and the process of winemaking. A wine and cheese tasting will complete this adventure before continuing to the banks of the Gironde Estuary which offer a captivating landscape with typical fishermen's huts called carrelets.       • Paulliac and the route to the estates of Médoc (about 4 hours) Departure by bus from Pauillac to discover the Médoc, a prestigious terroir. A piece of the world bearing the most prestigious red wines of the planet, enclosed between an ocean and an estuary. A mild and humid microclimate which has favoured the development of the vine. We will cross most of the prestigious appellations of the Médoc (Saint Julien, Haut-Médoc...). On the famous route des châteaux, you will stop at one of them to take part in a tasting* of the region's famous crus. Along the way, you will also see the unmissable Châteaux Lafite-Rothschild, Latour and Mouton Rothschild. Return on board at the end of the afternoon.

      • Guided visit of St-Emilion and tasting (about 3 hours) :
      • Departure by coach for the excursion to Saint-Emilion. Guided tour of the underground monuments of the village of Saint-Emilion. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the medieval city. You will then discover an exceptional troglodytic ensemble whose most original monument is the monolithic church. Entirely dug out of the limestone rock, it is the largest in Europe by its dimensions. You will then set off to discover a wine-producing estate where you will be explained the stages involved in making wine in Saint-Emilion. A commented tasting* will close the visit. Return by coach to the boat.

        The visit will take place entirely on foot, so bring good shoes.

      • Departure by coach for the guided tour of Bordeaux "by night". This panoramic tour will make you discover the main monuments of the city. Listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Bordeaux has been awarded the precious label in the "cultural site" category. Half of the city, from the boulevards to the banks of the Garonne, has thus been recognised for its architectural heritage.

      • Visit of Roquetaillade castle and Cadillac (about 4.5 hours) :
      • Departure by coach to Roquetaillade castle. This magnificent and prestigious medieval castle is classified as a historical monument of the 12th and 14th centuries. You will discover the dungeons from the Middle Ages, the first Renaissance fireplaces in the region (1600), but above all the unique 19th century interiors, a masterpiece in France by Viollet-le-Duc, now a listed monument. Along the way, visit a wine estate in the Sauternes region followed by a wine tasting* of a Sauternes wine. Return to Cadillac and guided tour of the town. Situated on the right bank of the Garonne, the Grailly family, lords of Cadillac, founded this bastide where the Duke of Epernon later built his sumptuous château. You will discover its gates and ramparts classified as historic monuments, its central square with arcades, its old houses and its church dating from the 15th century. Return on board by coach.

      • Gourmet walk in Cadillac (about 4 hours) :
      • Start for a guided walk on the Côteaux de Cadillac. Starting from the port, you will walk along the banks of the Garonne on the old towpaths and then up the hillsides through woods and vineyards. During your walk, you will be able to observe fishing huts, a hail cannon, typical Bordeaux charterhouses, a medieval castle as well as a magnificent panorama of the Garonne valley, the Sauternes vineyards, the bastide of Cadillac and its Ducal castle. The walk will end with a note of taste, you will take a break in a family farm with a visit to the wine cellars, wine tasting* with associated dishes.

        A walk of about 8 km (height difference 58 m).

        La Cité du Vin de Bordeaux (about 4 hours) : Inaugurated in 2016, this modern building, which looks like a lighthouse on the Garonne, is a unique place, an invitation to travel to the heart of the world's wine civilisations. Through more than 3,000 m² of open space, nearly twenty interactive themed areas invite you to travel for a unique experience in time and space to meet wine in its deepest diversity.
        You will also have access to the Cité du Vin belvedere, where you will discover Bordeaux at 360° by tasting* a glass of wine from around the world (5cl).

      • The maritime cities of Rochefort and La Rochelle (about 10 hours) :
      • Departure by coach to Rochefort. Created in the 17th century by Colbert at the request of Louis XIV in order to reign as a master on land and sea, Rochefort owes its prosperity to the most beautiful arsenal of the kingdom, nestled in the heart of a meander of the river Charente. The historic centre, with its numerous mansions and beautiful residences where great navigators and explorers resided, always exudes a perfume of adventure and exoticism. Visit the Corderie Royale, symbol of the Arsenal maritime. It was in the longest factory in Europe in the 17th century that the ropes for the king's ships and the navy were designed. Here you will discover the history of this magnificent building steeped in history as well as the techniques used to make the ropes that equipped sailing boats. Continuation to La Rochelle. Lunch at the restaurant. Capital of Charente-Maritime, this thousand-year-old city nestled in the heart of the Atlantic coast reveals an exceptional natural and architectural heritage. A guided tour in the heart of the old town and the old port will make you discover the Grosse-Horloge gate, the arcaded streets, the beautiful half-timbered houses, the mansions with sculpted facades and the cathedral. Free time. Return to Royan at the end of the day.

      • The Arcachon basin and the dune du Pilat (about 4 hours) :
      • Departure by coach from Bordeaux to reach the Arcachon basin. We will start by visiting the oyster house and its oyster museum located on the port of Larros in Gujan Mestras. Through a modern and interactive scenography you will discover the work of the oyster farmers and the history of the oyster. Lunch at the restaurant. In the afternoon, drive to Arcachon for a boat trip on the Arcachon basin. You will see the bird island, the tchanquées huts, the oyster beds. Then, continuation towards the dune of Pilat, the highest dune in Europe with its 107 m of altitude.
        Return to Bordeaux at the end of the day.

      • Panoramic tour of Royan (about 4 hours) :
      • Panoramic tour to discover Royan, seaside town and "city of Art and History". On the seafront you will find Belle Époque villas and villas of character with a "fifties" design, and in the Foncillon district stands the Notre-Dame church which is part of the movement to renew sacred art in the post-war years; a real architectural journey. Free time. The ideal location of the port in the heart of the city will allow you to go at your leisure to discover the city centre with its monuments: the covered market with its parachute-like atmosphere, the congress centre, the auditorium... or the port and the waterfront with a multitude of cafés, shops and speciality restaurants.

    A minimum number of 80 passengers is required for your cruise. If this minimum is not reached, your Globe Sailor consultant will contact you at least 60 days before your departure date to propose a postponement.


  • What are the regulations to confirm my booking?

    To confirm your booking, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will make an option for you while you collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once we have received your deposit (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) of 50% of the amount of the reservation. A 100% deposit will be required for any reservation made within 60 days of departure. The balance is due 45 days before departure at the latest.
  • What happens in case of a cancellation?

    In case of cancellation, you must notify your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the cause, the following cancellation fees will be due: up to 90 days before departure: 30% /// from 89 to 60 days: 50% /// from 59 to 30 days: 75% /// from 29 days until departure: 100% of the amount of your reservation.
