Map

Accompanied by Jean Bouchet, a mountain guide, you will head out to discover the west coast of the island of Spitsbergen. You will ski during the day and explore the most remote and incredible areas, home to remarkable arctic fauna. A journey which you will never forget!

Day 1 – Longyearbyen
Embarkment in the early evening. Dinner and the first night in Longyearbyen.

Day 2 –Isfjord
Sailing in the Isfjord, the main fjord in Svalbard.

Day 3 à 11 – Stopover and Hiking
Sailing all along the Northwestern coast of Spitsbergen, stopping in the famous Kings Bay or Cross Bay home to incredible colours and spectacular glaciers. More to the North, you will find the Madeleine Bay as well as what is left of the former whaling activity in Ytre Norskoya. Your captain will continue sailing to the idyllic anchorages hidden in the fjords of the North coast (Fuglefjorden, Raudfjorden, and if the weather permits, we will go as far as Woodfjorden).

Small boat rides and hikes are regularly organised in order to discover the fauna and flora of the area, to reach breathtaking panoramic views, or to approach one the many glacial fronts that dot these coasts. You will have the opportunity to see walrus, reindeer, bird colonies, and with a little luck maybe even the chance to see a polar bear!

King's Bay
King's Bay is the most well-known and most studied region of Spitsberge. Ny-Ålesund est known for having been the starting point for several attempts to reach the North Pole by air travel. This former mining town is now a polar research centre and has between 40 and 100 residents.

Cross Bay
Cross Bay is the home to polar bears and seals alike. It is a very popular place for animal lovers.

JOUR 12 – Isfjord
Return to Isfjord. The boat returns to Longyearbyen Bay for a final evening at the harbor.

JOUR 13 –Isfjord
