Oceanis 51.1

We had an amazing week on board our yacht charter. Check in was easy, although we paid extra for early check in but didn't actually get sorted very quickly. We had an amazing skipper, George who took us to some stunning places and spots to explore caves, jump off rocks etc. He knew all the locals and organised water taxis, boat to boat cocktails, recommended restaurants and negotiated great moorings. We visited Paxos, Antipaxos, Gaia, Parga and Sivota. He totally made our holiday! The yacht had a few drawbacks however, we chose this yacht for its 5 bedrooms - we were 9 adults (plus skipper) and the bunkbed room was definitely not suitable for adults - we had an 18 and 16 year old in there (both slim build) and they weren't able to sleep in the room comfortably, one moving to the main lounge area every night. The air conditioning was also broken in that room as well as the main lounge/kitchen area which we were not informed about until half way through the charter. We felt a bit misinformed about the air conditioning - the yacht says it has air con - which it does (apart from the broken bit I mention above), however the air con can only be used when the boat is not moving and is powered by the generator, which also can't be used at night as it's too noisy etc. On the occasions (twice) when we could connect to shore electricity the power is only strong enough to power one half of the boat, so you have to choose who has the air con overnight! Apart from the fact it was incredibly hot though, we all had a fantastic week and would definitely do it again!
