The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with paperwork handled quickly — which allowed us to depart on Saturday evening without any delays. It was also a nice personal touch that the check-in was done directly with the owner.

The boat itself is older, but it's clear the owner has put genuine care into renovating it and adding thoughtful small details that made sailing more comfortable. Those personal touches were noticeable and appreciated.

The one area I would recommend improving is the thoroughness of the check-in walkthrough. During check-out, we discovered that one of the waste tanks was stuck. We are fairly confident this was a pre-existing issue rather than something caused by us, but since we hadn't specifically checked it during the initial inspection, it became a point of contention. For any sailor — especially those less experienced — I'd suggest the owner takes extra time at check-in to go through all equipment and verify everything is in working order.

What made this situation more frustrating was the response from the operator. Rather than engaging in an open discussion about how the issue might have occurred, they were dismissive and simply expected us to cover the cost. This approach left a sour impression and is something I'd encourage them to reflect on — constructive dialogue goes a long way in building trust with customers.

Overall: A charming, well-loved boat with a welcoming owner. Just make sure to be thorough during check-in, and be aware of how disputes are handled if issues arise.
