When is best to sail in Salerno?

There are very few places in the Mediterranean that provide as pleasant sailing conditions as Salerno. Here, the glorious Italian sunshine provides great weather for months on end, with sailing being possible any time between March and October. Temperatures reach a high of 30°C during the peak summer months, which is what renders July and August the high season for sailing. If you want to avoid the crowds, we recommend mid-autumn as the seas are warmer and there is more space in the marinas. Gentle winds tend to blow from the west in the first half of the year, changing to an easterly wind after August.

How to get to Salerno

Getting to your beautiful sailing location along the Amalfi Coast is a relatively simple affair. The closest airport can be found in Salerno-Amalfi Airport, which despite being relatively new is always growing in size and increasing the international routes offered. If your closest airport does not fly here, try Capodichino Airport, which offers many more international routes which become more frequent during the sailing high season. Once you get to your sailboat charter destination, there are bus and train links to help you get around.
