Superb cruise despite a slightly aging boat. Very comfortable vessel for 6 people. Some strong conditions (up to 30 knots and nice swells) didn't faze it at all! Highly recommended. Thank you!

October cruise in the iles d'or.

Hello,

In general, we had a lot of fun with this Delher 38, both for its interior layout and for this week of sailing from Lavandou and on the "waterway" of Hyères, Iles d'Or, Cavalaire.
Parking is 50 meters from the boat (free from October) and provisioning was easy in this city that we enjoyed. An important point, the sanitary facilities at the port/ports were well maintained. For the dishes, the sinks are often too small.

Good welcome from our renter, Philippe D'Yvoire, both for the "inventory" and for his support in the rental process. In October, good reception in the ports and very appreciated help from the "guys" at the Cavalaire harbor master's office for mooring. In Hyères, the harbor master placed us on one of the pontoons for the shuttles, which have tires as fenders. So hello to the marks on the hull and then elbow grease to clean. So all the fenders on the same side and a wheel to fend off the tire that approaches "dangerously".

The Delher 38, Eo-lien, a 2017 boat in good condition and well maintained. A fully battened performance mainsail, a spinnaker with a sock easy to maneuver and appreciated on the two days of light winds. A stable and secure boat in established winds of 20 knots. Taking the first reef in these conditions southeast of Porquerolles, without particular difficulty.
Due to the inability to anchor at Port-Man because of too much east-southeast wind, we dropped anchor with the calm of the next day for a picnic and swimming at the island of Grand Ribaud.
For our navigation, we had established four possible routes on this waterway but the weather conditions "invited" us to mix all of that. As for port maneuvers, especially in crosswind, the bow thruster really helped us.

Among the "disadvantages", we regretted the absence of a user manual for the electronics, which seemed quite complex, and a leak when it rains on the deck hatch of the forward cabin. In port maneuvers, keep an eye on the bow thruster control. It retracts automatically if not used for a certain time, which is good, but sometimes that's when you need it.

Looking forward to going back, Alain.
