A magical cruise among the dolphins!

For a first experience with GlobeSailor, it was a success! Everything was there (or almost): the welcome, the quality of the boat, a Sun Odyssey 519, the marina of Mindelo very "pro" and plenty of wind in the sails to explore the Cape Verde archipelago. Ideal temperature between Christmas and New Year's: 28 degrees and a sea at 24 degrees! The sailing session among the dolphins near St. Lucia will remain a "must". To be repeated without moderation.

Easy but long sailing. Superb welcome and magnificent landscapes. 15 days are necessary for the windward islands.

Nice surprise - i expected something worse

Transport to the marina was well organized, a polite driver was waiting, and we arrived without any problems where we were met by a staff member named Rudi. The handover of the yacht was a bit long but covered all issues, including recommending the appropriate sailing route. A nice surprise was the yacht, which although 'aged' was fully functional and well-maintained, thanks to the meticulous handover and reception. The yacht was clean, and the equipment worked without any complaints, except for the roller furler which was difficult to unfurl and furl; we only checked this while sailing because there was no opportunity in the port due to strong winds. There were also issues with starting the engine for the dinghy. The marina's location is great, close to shops, restaurants, technical support, and hotels. We did not use the parking facilities. The islands, as expected, lack marinas, and there are issues with water and fuel, but anchoring has its charm, and everywhere there is friendly service, eager to help people, often selflessly. We spent very nice moments on the islands of Brava and Sao Nicolau. Dining in restaurants is cheap and good, especially the fish, which are abundant there. In summary, this trip is not for beginners; you need some experience because the winds there are strong (up to 40 knots), and sailing in 5-meter waves also requires experience. Building 2-3 marinas there would enhance this beautiful sailing area.

Sailing around all the cape verde islands combined with sightseeing.

We sailed on a Sun Odyssey 519. A large, comfortable, well-equipped yacht. All necessary tools were available on board: extra shackles, needles and thread for sewing sails, a guide to marinas with detailed descriptions and photos (in German). A major downside was the small dinghy with a small engine, which needed to be turned 180 degrees to go backward, and it also stalled. We only used the dinghy once (it was a challenge with the waves). It was safer to use fishing boats for a fee. I recommend chartering from the Mindelo marina (the only one in Cabo Verde) due to the convenient accommodation, check-in, provisioning of the yacht, and final refueling. The marina is decent with showers and a nice restaurant. The service from the charter company was fine. Rudi - a nice Austrian, tried to be helpful.
