Your Boat

Boat
You are sailing aboard Maya, a Lagoon 400, 12 metres long and 7 metres wide. Her versatility will guarantee you comfort at sea and great performance under sail. The helm station, easily accessible from the cockpit, offers good visibility on the sea. Inside, the saloon is particularly spacious and bright thanks to its glazing giving a panoramic view. Itinerary

Map
Whether for a 2-day or 4-day course, your trainer will adapt to your expectations. On the programme: manoeuvres, seamanship, fitting out, docking, reefing, safety... The aim for you is to become more autonomous!
START : Hyères
Your instructor will be waiting for you in the port of Saint-Pierre for your boarding, between 8 and 9 am. You will familiarise yourself with the boat and discuss your personal objectives with the skipper during the course. After checking the weather forecast, it will be time to prepare the deck for departure. You will then hoist the mainsail and unfurl the jib to make a few tacks towards your next stopover...

During your sailing, you will learn about the following themes and notions :.
(man overboard, use of VHF, reefing) The port manoeuvres and mooring (sailing and motor)
  • The sail adjustments according to wind strength (reefing)
  • The tack changes (tacking and gybing)
  • The safety (man overboard, use of VHF, reefing. ..)
  • La meteorology (sky observation, atmospheric circulation...)
  • La cartography (map reading, positioning techniques...)

  • You will find below a non-exhaustive list of the stopovers you can make during your cruise :.

  • The Golden Islands, better known under the name of Hyères Islands, form a protected archipelago, composed of 4 islands :
  • .
    • Porquerolles is the largest island of the archipelago. It has two distinct atmospheres. To the north, there is a peaceful atmosphere with turquoise water bordered by fine sandy beaches. On the other hand, the south coast has a much wilder landscape with steep cliffs and mysterious creeks.
    • Port-Cros is a national park (land and sea) protected since 1963. With its 1700 ha, it is the most mountainous island of the archipelago. Its trails attract every year hiking enthusiasts and its sea bed attracts diving enthusiasts. The mooring areas are regulated to allow the preservation of its ecosystem, but you can practice manoeuvres in its port.
    • Le Levant is an island organised in two zones. A large part is occupied by a military base, the rest (to the west) is shared between the nature reserve of Arbousiers (whose species are as beautiful as they are singular) and the naturist area of Heliopolis. Along its coast, you will find some nice anchorages to take a lunch break and enjoy the view.
    • Bagaud is classified as an "Integral Reserve". It is thus the subject of scientific studies on the animal and plant species present on the island. Several mooring areas have been set up with buoys, allowing you to spend a night in the middle of a magnificent setting while preserving the environment. So, ready to practice your trunk catch ?
    .
  • Le Lavandou is a small village at the foot of the Massif des Maures. It was created on the initiative of Genoese and Catalan fishermen who were attracted by the particularly rich sea in this area. Its 12 km of coastline is dotted with numerous beaches and creeks, ideal for learning how to anchor.

  • Bormes-les-Mimosas is an old medieval village from the 12th century. Today it is a seaside resort with the Provencal colours of the Var. It is thus in this enchanting setting surrounded by turquoise water, much appreciated by divers, that you will sail.

  • ARRIVAL: Hyères
After a final sail, you will reach the port of Hyères at the end of the afternoon.
Disembarkation in the port of Saint-Pierre is scheduled for around 6pm.

We also offer other courses on the theme of harbour manoeuvres or safety. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
