4 days until the Vendée Globe - are you ready?

In a matter of days the legendary Vendée-Globe’s famous solo round-the-world race will begin! This regatta, without the possibility of docking or receiving any outside assistance, was created in 1989 by Philippe Jeantot and takes place every four years. The GlobeSailor team will be there!

The Vendée Globe starts and finishes in Les Sables-d’Olonne, and the sailors travel across the Atlantic Ocean to the Cape of Good Hope, to Antarctica, then Leewin Cape, before finally setting off from Cape Horn to arrive back at Sables-d’Olonne. The regatta takes places at this time of year due to the weather conditions, and it lasts from November to February so that sailors can navigate the Southern Ocean during its summer season.
