Cruise options with GlobeSailor in Croatia:

Zagreb, the country's capital, is Croatia's largest city. Many people are also drawn to the coastal cities of Dubrovnik, Split, Rijeka, Pula and Trogir, as sailing and relaxing on the beach are naturally very popular activities on the coast. The country's area of almost 57,000 km² with a disproportionately long coastline, offers fantastic beaches, bays, and islands where you can sail aboard a cabin charter or a yacht. If you are looking for a catamaran, you can choose from our wide range of high-quality ships GlobeSailor offers.

Cabin cruises offer complete comfort and luxury, and with a huge variety of charters available to book, you will certainly find the ideal cruise for your week (or more!) in the Mediterranean.

We offer many ships and cruises to guests who wish to travel here. Whether you wish to spend your days lazily cruising along the coast, relaxing on the ship's deck, or exploring the coastline's many destinations, we have a package to suit any person! A cabin cruise is a luxury experience as it includes all the comforts on board in our price.

Our skipper and crew shall take care of the itinerary during your cruising days, freeing you from worry and stress as they offer you exceptional luxury service. A skipper chooses the best route for sailing, and the other crew members remain at your disposal to take care of all the essential details (no matter how small!) onboard and in your cabins to make your trip outstanding. Booking a cabin on a sailing cruise can be a great way to meet new people and make friends while exploring the area and on the ship's deck.

The crew will prepare food daily with traditional gastronomic flavours of the Mediterranean included in the full board. You shall also benefit from the luxury of the hostess regularly cleaning the common area of the cruise ship.

Your skipper will bring you to the most beautiful places in all of Croatia! Enjoy the view as you cruise the sea, sit on the deck, read a great book, or ask the crew for some sailing tips! In the skipper's free time, they will happily help you brush up on your sailing knowledge. Or rest in your air-conditioned cabins onboard the ship or in the catamaran saloon. Your cabin offers you plenty of space and comfort, so you can retire to your private cabins anytime and have a moment away from the other guests on the boat.

Dubrovnik: The gorgeous city of Dubrovnik has many sights for you to see, including its enchanting city walls in the Old Town. The historic town center of Dubrovnik is filled with charming alleyways, ancient churches, and stunning architecture. You can explore the town on foot and discover its rich history and local culture. For all the Game of Thrones fans out there, be sure to visit Dubrovnik West Harbour, which was used as the filming location for Blackwater bay! Other places around Durovnik were also used as the location for King's Landing, and it is possible to tour the town to see these iconic places!

Sibenik: Sibenik is a beautiful historic city located in central Dalmatia. It is known for its impressive medieval architecture, stunning coastline.

Croatian Islands to visit:

As we've already mentioned, Croatia has over 1,000 islands for you to explore! Here's our top picks for you to visit while cruising in Croatia:

Hvar: We recommend stopping at Hvar town, as charming town is the island's main hub and features beautiful architecture and a picturesque harbour. The island is known for its stunning beaches and rich history. There’s something for everyone in Hvar! Visitors can explore the island's rich cultural heritage by doing a walking tour of the historical landmarks such as the St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Franciscan Monastery. And when the blazing orange sun sets across the beautiful Croatian landscape, Hvar comes alive with its nightlife scene, having numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants to choose from.

Korcula: This island boasts magnificent natural beauty. Its pristine beaches, vibrant landscapes and bright blue waters will leave you speechless. Additionally, the island has a rich cultural heritage, with a well-preserved medieval old town, beautiful churches, and fascinating museums. And, of course, no visit to Korcula would be complete without sampling the island's best wines and delicious local cuisine. Korcula also hosts several festivals annually, celebrating local traditions, culture, and music. The most popular festivals are the Sword Dance Festival in July and the Marco Polo Festival in August.

Mljet: The stunning island of Mljet, located off the coast of Croatia near Dubrovnik, known for its lush green forests, clear blue sea, and a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. The island is home to the Mljet National Park, one of Croatia's best and most beautiful natural parks, offering visitors the chance to explore the island's stunning natural beauty, including two saltwater lakes and a variety of walking and cycling trails. The rich cultural heritage of Mljet can be seen all over the island, with numerous historical landmarks for you to take a tour of, including the 12th-century Benedictine Monastery and the 4th-century Roman Palace.

How to get to your charter:

You will find many direct flights from Europe to Croatia. Even in summer you can book low-cost airlines flights for your week sailing trip. The most popular airports to fly to in Croatia are Pula, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik. A flight to Zagreb is also possible, but you must travel a few hours by taxi or rental car before boarding your yacht and starting your sailing trip.

Travelling to the charter by car is possible if your family prefers. For example, the route from Munich to Split takes just under nine hours. Or you can make a stopover to explore the capital Zagreb. Once you arrive in Croatia, you will find marina after marina, ensuring you will always find a suitable starting point for your catamaran cruise.

How to spend the day on a catamaran cruise in Croatia:

  • Start with breakfast: Begin your day with a delicious breakfast on board your sailboat. When a hostess or cook is included in your cruise, they will prepare your breakfast on your behalf; lucky you!
  • Explore the islands: Croatia is known for its beautiful islands, so set sail and explore them. One suggestion is to visit the Pakleni Islands, just off Hvar's coast. These islands have beautiful beaches, hidden coves, and clear blue waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
  • Go swimming: Croatia is famous for its crystal-clear waters, so take a dip in the sea to cool off from the sun. You can also try snorkeling to see the underwater world.
  • Mediterranean Lunch: Croatia has delicious Mediterranean dishes for you to experience while on your cruise. Choose a local restaurant, or sit onboard your catamaran and enjoy a delicious seafood lunch with local wines or beers.
  • Visit a historical site: Many of the islands have historical and UNESCO World Heritage sites worth visiting, such as the Stari Grad Plain on Hvar or the Roman ruins on Vis.
  • Watch the sunset: Croatia has some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. Find a quiet spot on the boat or the shore and watch the sun set over the water.
  • Dinner on board: Finish your day with a relaxing dinner on board your sailboat. Your cook or hostess will prepare a Croatian inspired dinner or for you to enjoy. Finish the evening by enjoying some drinks with the other cruise guests before retiring to your cabin for a good night's sleep.

Climate and sailing conditions for your catamaran in Croatia:

Set sail for your yacht charter and be inspired by our offer - charter your dream boat! Croatia is ideal for your next holiday with the family if you prefer a Mediterranean climate for your boat, catamaran, or yacht trip. In summer, the dry temperatures of up to 30°C are perfect for those people who want to sunbathe on board theyacht or the islands during your sailing trip in the Mediterranean.

It should be noted there is considerably more rain during a winter cruise, and the temperatures are milder. After a long day exploring, you can relax in your private cabin and fully unwind. The yacht charter cabins are particularly cosy, and you will feel as comfortable in your cabins as you would in your own bed.

The Scirocco is the prevailing wind on the Adriatic, but it is very light in summer, so you will not have to worry about your charter when you anchor your catamaran and sleep in your cabins. However, it should be noted for your yacht charter that the occasional cold fall winds, called bora, are in the coastal region. These are among the strongest winds in the world and should be considered when chartering a yacht . Take advantage of the comfort on your yacht and the cabins. These cabins are an ideal retreat, and you will certainly feel comfortable in your cabins. However, your skipper will safely navigate you per route. So you can sail in peace along the coast of Croatia or off the islands aboard your yacht and really enjoy your yacht charter. Cruising in this country is an unforgettable experience - for everyone!

One of the many benefits of sailing with a crew, is that neither you nor the other guests need any sailing licenses. According to Croatian legislation, at least one of the persons on board needs a valid navigation and radio licence for the catamaran / ship. When you hire a skipper for your yacht, they will have all the appropriate sailing skills and licences for your sailing trip on the Adriatic. Leaving you to focus on exploring and enjoying the coast and islands fully!

The best time for cruises in Croatia:

As the season in which you rent your catamaran cruise changes, so do the sailing conditions. The best time for a week's cruising in Croatia aboard your boat starts in March, though the water doesn't get warm enough for swimming and diving for your charter until mid-May. If you book your charter for September to late October, you can look forward to pleasant temperatures and plenty of sunshine for your charter. July and August are usually overcrowded, and to book your cabin charter at this time will also be expensive. You can sail for cheaper in the early and late season and find more yacht charter options for Croatia, if you don't mind colder nights during your week's holiday. You can also spend the cold nights comfortably in your cabins. Snuggle up in the cabins of your catamaran and relax! Simply look around online on our website for the right offer and price for your yacht charter!
