Grenadines

Day 1: The Marin
Embark on board this luxurious catamaran and spend your first night at the port of Le Marin. You will have time to get to know your very friendly skipper and the boat. Make yourself comfortable. This boat has plenty of friendly spaces to relax and enjoy the cruise.

Day 2: Le Marin - Sainte Lucie (about 4h)
The trade wind coming from the East will take you to the northern tip of Saint Lucia. You will discover Rodney Bay, an artificial lagoon with fine sand in the shape of a horseshoe. Wherever you are in Rodney, you will find an activity that suits you (beach, restaurants, bars, shops, casinos...).
A little further south, you will discover Marigot Bay, a cove that you have never seen before is waiting for you! You will spend the night there and enjoy an unforgettable sunset from the boat's fly deck.

Day 3 : Saint Lucia - Bequia (about 8h)
After an early morning departure, you will head for Bequia. Feel free to watch what's going on underwater. You could meet some great sea life(flying fish, whales, rays...). With its 18km², Bequia is the largest island in the Grenadines. Its inhabitants are particularly attached to their local customs and in particular, to whaling, which takes place once a year. You will anchor at Admiralty Bay, one of the most famous anchorages in the archipelago. At the bottom of the bay, you will find Port Elizabeth, the island's main village. Disembark and discover this little piece of paradise. Let yourself be charmed by a tasting of local fruits and vegetables in the Béquia market.
Other equally charming anchorage sites can be proposed according to your wishes.

Day 4 : Bequia - Mosquito Island (about 2h30)
You will weigh anchor to go to Mosquito Island surrounded by these 4 small islets. Before going to sip a coconut at the Bazil Bar, you will have to take out a gaff, because nowadays it is mandatory to take a buoy! This island is a landmark for celebrities. You may have the chance to meet Mick Jagger. You will find jeep rentals ashore, allowing you to visit the island at your own pace. For the most courageous, we recommend Macaroni Beach, accessible only by a pedestrian path. You can relax on the beach in peace and quiet and refresh yourself in this turquoise water.

Day 5 : Mosquito Island - Mayreau (about 1h30)
After short navigation, you will arrive on the island of Mayreau and, more precisely, in Salt Whistle Bay. With its fine sandy beaches and coconut palms, this bay is worthy of the greatest postcard landscapes! The place is also very popular with wakeboarders and kitesurfers. If you like reggae music and want to discover the Caribbean atmosphere, visit "Chez Robert." Located between the beach and the perched village of Mayreau, you will have a refreshment before continuing your ascent to the church. It is from this church that you will have a magnificent and unobstructed view of the Tobago Cays reserve.

Day 6: Mayreau - Tobago Cays (about 1h)
Located only a few nautical miles from Mayreau, you will be enchanted by the beauty of Tobago Cays. This preserved Marine Park is bordered by a magnificent coral reef called the "Horse Shoe Reef." This paradise is ideal for wearing masks and snorkels, and swimming with turtles, rays, colorful scaly fish, and many other marine species. You will probably be tempted by fresh-caught lobsters or a wide variety of fish offered by local fishermen that you can enjoy on the beach.

Day 7 : Tobago Cays - Union
Cast off towards Union, a small volcanic island of about 8m². Often referred to as the "Tahiti of the West Indies" because of its mountainous relief. Perhaps you will have the courage to climb its summit, Mount Parnassus overlooking the sea from the top of its 300 meters? You will not be disappointed by this ascent. The panorama is breathtaking. For diving enthusiasts, don't miss Chatham Bay. You will swim with tropical fish species and turtles, an unforgettable experience!

Day 8 : Union - Saint-Vincent
You will continue your cruise up north to reach the island of Saint-Vincent and its volcanic mountains. You will discover the splendor of Cumberland Bay and its coconut grove. Aboard their canoes, the inhabitants reserve a warm welcome for you. This island will seduce you with its natural beauty, its walks, and waterfalls that will recharge your batteries. If you want to know more about this Eldorado, we recommend the services of Luggy (a qualified national guide) who will take you to the most secret corners of the island... And why not sip a little mojito behind a coconut tree at "Mojito's restaurant"?

Day 9 : Saint-Vincent - Le Marin
Head north along the island of Saint Lucia and reach the bewitching bay of Saint Anne. This last day of sailing may seem like a long day, but the comfort and facilities of the boat will entertain you. You can learn to fish (rods are available for rent) or simply relax in the sun on one of the cushions positioned at the front of the boat. You mark a stopover in the bay of Saint-Anne, which is located at the entrance to the port. This bay is home to a few restaurants and merchants where you can make your last purchases.

Day 10: The Marin
After breakfast, you will hoist the sails one last time and sail towards your home port of Le Marin. You will arrive at the port in the morning. It will be time to say goodbye to this wonderful boat and its dedicated skipper.

Frequently asked questions

  • What vaccines are recommended to travel to the Grenadines?

For a trip to the Grenadines, no vaccination is required for your stay. However, we advise you to pay attention to different things such as:

    The Zika Virus
Due to the presence of the Zika virus transmitted by tiger mosquito bites, it is recommended that pregnant women or women planning to become pregnant postpone their stay or protect themselves against mosquito bites. Symptoms include fever, headache, joint pain, and rash.

    Dengue fever
The main health concern is the increase in dengue fever cases throughout the Caribbean region. This mosquito-borne disease presents its first symptoms similar to those of the severe flu (fever above 40°C), before degenerating: nausea, vomiting, dehydration, even skin rashes... There is a potentially fatal hemorrhagic form - but fortunately rare.

    The Chikungunya
This mosquito-borne viral disease appeared in the West Indies in 2014. The symptoms are similar to those of influenza, with the addition of joint pain, which can be severe. As with dengue fever and Zika, there is no vaccine or effective treatment. It is, therefore, necessary to protect yourself as much as possible from mosquitoes. Fortunately, severe forms remain extremely rare. In case of persistent symptoms, consult a doctor.

    Protect yourself against mosquito bites
For these diseases, there is no vaccine or treatment; only symptoms are treated. It is, therefore, necessary to protect yourself as much as possible from injections.
Wear long, covering clothing, especially in the forest, where you will wear long pants and sleeves, especially in the morning and evening. Avoid dark fabrics. Don't wear perfume... On the repellent side, there are now organic repellents, less harmful than those containing DEET. At night, use a mosquito net whenever possible: it is one of the most effective protection.
  • How are meals on board the boat organized?

This cruise does not include any meals.
For an extra charge, you can benefit from full board or All-Inclusive.
  • What is the time difference in the Grenadines?

The time difference between France and the Grenadines is -6H in summer, -5H in winter.
  • What documents are needed to travel to the Grenadines?

British and US passport holders don’t need a visa to visit St Vincent and the Grenadines, but you must have a passport valid for at least 6 months. On entry, you will be granted a specified period to stay. If you wish to stay longer, you must apply and pay for an extension of your stay through the St Vincent Immigration Department.
For other nationalities you should consult the advice issued by your government's foreign office.
  • What currency is used in the Grenadines?

The currency in the Grenadines is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$ or XCD)
    In April 2018, 1 € = 3,33 EC$ et 1 EC$ = 0,3 €. However the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Eastern Caribbean dollar is fixed: 1 US$ = 2,70 $EC.
The Eastern Caribbean Dollar is used in 7 other English speaking Caribbean islands: Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint-Kitts and St. Lucia.
Leave home with US dollars or take cash out from an ATM when you are there. You can find some on most of the islands (except Mayreau), but be warned, they are sometimes out of order!

If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.

The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
