Take a seat aboard the Rubba, a magnificent 31-metre-long luxury yacht. This boat, which looks like a floating hotel, has all the comforts you need for a magical stay, with a local crew to look after you. The main deck has a terrace with cushions, ideal for sunbathing at any time of the day. You will also find a lounge area sheltered from the sun. The crew offers you international cuisine, made with local produce. Finally, the sun deck opens onto the cockpit and is perfect for enjoying the mountainous landscape. At the stern, the swimming platform will allow you to go down into the water in complete safety.

Itinerary of your cruise

During your cruise, you will sail (maximum 6 hours per day) through the famous Strait of Hormuz, which separates the Persian Gulf from the Gulf of Oman. Although isolated, the Musandam peninsula offers breathtaking scenery and small charming villages with friendly inhabitants. Your swims will be the occasion to make wonderful underwater discoveries in the middle of hundreds of fish. On a clear day, you will even be able to see the Iranian coast.

DAY 1: Khasab - Sham Fjord - Telegraph Island - Seebi Island
The Rubba and her crew will be waiting for you at 12:00 noon in Khasab harbour. After a quick itinerary briefing and safety briefing, you will set sail and set a course for Sham Fjord. During the crossing, you may have the chance to see dolphins. Upon arrival (around 1:30 pm), you will taste delicious local specialities in front of this impressive fjord. You leave in the direction of Telegraph Island and enjoy another stop for swimming and snorkeling. The captain will then take you to Seebi Island. Here you will have to choose between a fishing trip or a journey through the island. In any case, at the end of the day, you will have a chance to admire the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 2: Seebi Island - Kumzar - Shabus Fjord
This morning, enjoy your breakfast in the beautiful and peaceful Seebi Bay. Your boat will sail on the Arabian Sea and anchor near the village of Kumzar. Together with the guide, you would be able to visit a small fishing village which is completely isolated by sea and only accessible by boat. You will then head back out to sea to head towards the Shabus Fjord. During the crossing, you will make a swimming stop and have lunch next to the village of Al Balad. Dinner and night on board.

DAY 3 : Shabus Fjord - Khor Najd - Lima village
One of the best ways to start the day is to admire a beautiful sunrise. You will have some time during the morning to appreciate the panoramic view of the horizon. After that, you will leave for Khor Najd, where you will start your safari in the mountains of Khasab. In a 4x4, your driver guide will take you to discover the impressive Jabel Al Harim mountain. With its 2087 meters, it is the highest of the Musandam Peninsula. Come back on board to taste the tasty dishes prepared by the crew. After lunch, you will be able to swim or kayak. In order to fully continue your immersion in Omani culture and traditions, the captain will cast-off to Lima. The local drivers will be delighted to share with you the history and secrets of their village. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 4: Lima Village - Khasab
After your breakfast, it will be time to return to Khasab. Take this time to relax and appreciate the immersive view of the sea. Your disembarkation at Khasab port is scheduled for 1 pm.

    Please note that this cruise is not exclusive to English travelers. It is quite common to meet people of various nationalities on board as we offer cruises to international clientele - encouraging curious and enriching exchanges for both passengers and crew.
    Crew members are multilingual and qualified to offer multilingual service.
  • Practical information:

    To avoid cluttering your cabin, we recommend taking only a small suitcase. Any extra luggage can be left on site, in the company's offices.
    We also advise you to wear comfortable shoes to avoid any inconvenience during the island visits. Please note that it is necessary to bring long pants and have something to cover your shoulders during the village visits.
  • What documents are required for a trip to Oman?

    What documents are required for a trip to Oman?

    French nationals must be in possession of a VISA and a passport valid for at least 6 months after the date of return.
    The tourist visa is valid for 1 month from the date of issue. The application must be made within one month of departure.

    To apply for an eVisa you must :

  • Pay the visa fee. For the single entry tourist visa: 5 Rials for stays between 1 and 10 days, 20 Rials for stays up to 30 days, 50 Rials for the multi-entry visit visa.
  • Important : in the event of a stopover in other countries, it is advisable to find out about their requirements in advance.

  • How are meals organised on board the boat?

    During your cruise, you will benefit from the full board formula including: breakfasts, lunches and dinners (international cuisine). These are organized and prepared by the hostess/cook.
    You also have soft drinks at your disposal: mineral water, lemonade, different types of tea and coffee. Alcoholic beverages are not served on board. However, it is possible to bring them with you. Please check the terms and conditions of your quotation. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to certain foods or if you are on a special diet.
  • How are my transfers between the airport and the boat organized?

    Transfers are not included in your package. However, they can be arranged by your GlobeSailor consultant and the base manager by taxi or minibus.
    Payment for this service is usually to be made to GlobeSailor at the time of the balance payment or directly on site in cash. Don't forget to send your arrival times to your consultant.
  • Who's in charge of the flights to Oman?

    Your plane tickets are not included in your package. However, they can be booked by the GlobeSailor team. You just have to specify it to your adviser when booking your cruise.

    To be noted:
    Khasab has a national airport which can be reached from Muscat. Connections are every morning except Thursday and Saturday (in the afternoon). Khasab airport is 5 min from the city centre and 10 min from the port (by car).
    You can also land at Dubai airport and take a transfer (about 3 hours by car) to Khasab port.
  • What is the currency used in Oman?

    The local currency is Omani Rial (OMR).
  • What's the time difference in Oman?

    The time difference between Oman and France is +2h.
  • Etiquette and cultural practices

    On the boat, guests are free to wear bathing suits.

    The constitution states that Islam is the state religion while guaranteeing freedom of belief. The Omani population is generally very tolerant. However, it is recommended that an attitude of respect for local customs be shown and that cultural differences may give rise to misinterpretation of certain behaviours.

    Men and women should cover their shoulders and knees and avoid short or low-cut clothing, respect places of worship and abstain from drinking alcohol in public. In places of worship as well as when visiting villages, it is essential to wear appropriate clothing, for women (long trousers / pants / skirts covering all legs, long sleeves and wear a scarf to cover the head without hair) and for men (long trousers / pants and long or short sleeved shirt / polo shirt). During the month of Ramadan, travellers should be particularly vigilant with regard to respect for the customs and traditions of the country. During this period, it is forbidden to eat, drink or smoke in public from sunrise to sunset.

    It is recommended not to take photographs of people without their prior permission. It is forbidden to photograph public buildings or military or police vehicles.
  • What are the recommended vaccinations for your trip to Oman?

    No vaccinations are mandatory but some are recommended. The DTP (diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis) vaccination is recommended, as well as the MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) vaccination in children and adults; tuberculosis vaccination is also advised.

  • What payments do I have to make to confirm my reservation?

    To confirm your booking, you must inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will make an option for you while you collect your deposit. The reservation will only be considered final once your deposit has been received (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card), from 30 to 50% of the amount of the reservation. A deposit of 100% will be required for any reservation made less than one month before departure. The balance is due 45 days before departure at the latest.
  • What happens in case of cancellation?

    In case of cancellation, you must notify your GlobeSailor consultant as soon as possible. Whatever the cause, the following cancellation fees will be due: up to 90 days before departure: 30% /// from 89 to 60 days: 50% /// from 59 to 30 days: 75% /// from 29 days to departure: 100% of the amount of your reservation.
