Hike the famed Selvaggio Blu from the port to the coast in the heart of Baunei Sardinia. This route is one of the last wild treks in the Mediterranean. Hike for an average of 4 hours a day and reflect on the wild and pure experience along the blue coast. Head back to the boat in the late afternoon to relax and enjoy the amenities of the boat.

Sail aboard this bright Lagoon 440, a nearly 14-meter-long catamaran. Thanks to the large cockpit, you will always be comfortable while enjoying your lunch and admiring the view of the Sardinian coasts. The rear skirts allow you to safely go down into the water and refresh yourself after your hikes. Lounge on the trampolines to relax in the sun.
Important: From September you will be sailing on a brand new Lagoon 42 (built in 2019).

This catamaran has 4 double cabins and can accommodate up to 8 passengers. All cabins have storage space and a bathroom with shower and private toilets.

Start your week in the small village of Santa Maria before you begin hiking the Selvaggio Blu. Famed for its wildness and purity, this hiking route is the last of its kind. Admire and appreciate the beautiful rugged coast and the deep blue sea in a different way.

Day 1 : Cagliari - Santa Maria Navarrese
Arrive at Cagliari airport (Elmas), the capital of the region located in South Sardinia. Transfer from the airport to Oligastra and destination port of Sant Maria will take a 1 hour 30 minutes. Your crew welcomes you on the boat with a welcome aperitif. Towards the end of the afternoon, you will have a briefing on your cruise, prepare for the trip and get to know fellow passengers. Enjoy a stroll through the small village of Santa Maria in the evening. First dinner on board. Overnight at port Santa Maria Navarrese.

Day 2: Santa Mario Navarrese - Pedra Longa - Cala Fenile
Navigation begins and you set sail for Pedra Longa. Follow the coast and discover the small island and nature reserve, Isolotto. Once you arrive at Pedra Longa, get ready to hike for about 3 hours. After your breath of fresh air, your catamaran leaves and makes a stopover at Cala Fenile beach. Have lunch on board or on the beach. Afterwards, enjoy an afternoon of swimming or relaxation. Your vessel sets sail for one of the coves on the coast. Spend the evening and night there.

Day 3: Porto Cuau - Porto Pedrosu
After breakfast, you sail for an hour before arriving on the small beach of Cuau port. The name of this small beautiful cove means hidden. Its bottoms are rocky, and it is surrounded by high walls pitted with vegetation typical of the Mediterranean. Fisherman and swimmers alike covet the beach because it’s water is crystal-clear. Climb to the top of Capo Monte Santo and admire the view which overlooks the coast. After your land journey, your boat sets sail to find the anchorage at Porto Pedrosu. Spend the evening there.

Day 4: Cala Goloritze - Punta Salinas
In the morning you will explore one of the natural arches of the region, the Cala Goloritze. It is accessible by sea or by a small path which will be hike’s starting point. Snorkel the sublime seabed in your free time! During the hike, you will stop at a sheep pasture and learn how to make cheese and other local Sardinian produce such as bread and eucalyptus honey.

Day 5 : Cala Sisine - Cala Luna
Between colorful coves and enchanting atmosphere, hike the plateaus that offer a spectacular view of the rocky coast of Capo Monte Santo. At the end of the day, swim relax and enjoy a great dinner!

Walking: 5-6 hrs
Height difference: 600 m

Day 6: Cala Luna - Caletta Fuili - Santa Navarrese
Start your hike early to reach Caletta Fuili, a beautiful beach, at the end of the morning. After lunch, your catamaran leaves for Santa Maria. The afternoon is dedicated to sailing, relaxation, discovering new coves and admiring the scenery. You arrive in Santa Maria Navarrese in the late afternoon.

Day 7 : Santa Navarrese
Free day or you can go back for an excursion in the Supramonte to Orgosolo, a famous Sardinian village with a life illustrated in murals. You will visit new sheep pastures in the mountains among unspoiled wild nature. During this hike, you will have the opportunity to pet the sheep. You will then head into the valley for a drink as the locals do. This excursion is optional.

Day 8: Santa Navarrese - Cagliari
Depart on Saturday from Santa Maria Navarrese. Transfer by minibus to Cagliari airport.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is good physical condition required for this cruise?

    We recommend that passengers be in good physical condition and be accustomed to taking long walks to participate in this hike/cruise. It is important to note that the hikes are substantial, they last from 3 to 6 hours a day and have elevations that can reach 600 meters. You must also bring the necessary equipment to be comfortable during your hikes (walking shoes, sunglasses, cap or hat, sunscreen, backpack...).
  • What documents do I need to travel to Sardinia?

    For EU residents, for a stay up to 30 days you will need a valid passport. For non EU residents, check with the consulate of their country of origin for information on formalities.
  • How is a cruise with a skipper and a hostess/cook organized?

    All the skippers we offer are registered and hold the necessary professional certificates. They speak fluent English. If you have any special requirements regarding the skipper, please let us know. The skipper is responsible for navigation and your safety on board. Concerning the organization, the skipper and the hostess sleep on the boat, in a cabin.
  • How can I arrange my transfer from the airport to Santa Maria Navarrese?

    Your transfers between Cagliari airport and Santa Maria Navarrese boarding port are included in your package. Don't forget to forward your arrival times to your advisor.
  • Who takes care of my transport to Sardinia?

    Your flight tickets can be booked by the GlobeSailor team. All you have to do is specify it to your advisor when you book your cruise.
  • How are meals organized on board?

    During your cruise, full board is included in cashbox. The latter is to be paid on the spot and in cash. It includes: breakfasts, lunches and dinners (excluding drinks and dinner on day 7) and port taxes. Your hostess / cook will be in charge of cooking your meals.
    Check the terms and conditions of your quote carefully. Upon request, your advisor can send you the menus proposed on board. They are often prepared with fresh and local products. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are allergic to any food or if you are on a special diet.
  • What payments must I make in order to confirm my booking?

    To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
    The booking will only be considered final once your down payment has been recieved (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
    The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding.
  • What happens if there isn't 6 passengers?

    The departure of your cruise is subject to a minimum number of 6 passengers. In the event that this minimum is not reached, your Globe Sailor advisor will contact you n in order to propose an extension of the date.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?

    If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 25%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.
