Day 1 - Lipari
This afternoon, embark on your sailboat at 7pm at Lipari, the largest of the Eolian Islands. The historic center of Lipari is dominated by the castle constructed on the headland: the oldest fortifications date back to the 4th Century BC. During your evening try some of the local specialities and enjoy the wonderful Sicilian atmosphere.

Day 2 – Lipari - Panarea
After breakfast your captain will sail towards the bay of Pumice to the north of Lipari. You can swim in the crystal-clear waters and relax on one of the beaches of pure white sand. Enjoy lunch on board and then head towards the island of Panarea, which is also known as the 'fashion island'. It is the smallest island of the archipelago and in the summer it welcomes many of the Italian and European elite.

Day 3 - Panarea – Stromboli
You leave Panarea in the morning to sail towards Stromboli. You will pass by Basiluzzo, a small islet of volcanic origin where you can swim. After about 2 hours with all sails up, you will see Stromboli and its volcano, which rises to an altitude of 926 metres. After a few minutes on board the dinghy, you will disembark on the island. You will be taken to Chez Ingrid, where you can enjoy an aperitif on the terrace while admiring the magnificent sunset. For the more courageous, it is possible to hike up the volcano to an altitude of 300 metres. The view from up there is breathtaking... Also do not forget about an incredible night swim after the climb.

Day 4 - Stromboli – Salina
Stroll the small streets and discover the traditional village of Stromboli and its little shops. Your skipper will then bring you to your next stop: a diving session close to the rock of Strombolicchio. Then you can simply relax on one of the wonderful beaches on the other side of the island. In the afternoon, sail towards the island of Salina.

Day 5 – Salina - Filicudi
Cast off and continue your tour of the island by sail from the south. You quickly reach the villages of Rinella and Pollara. The latter contains one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, which served as a natural setting for the famous film "Il Postino" (The Postman). This will be the perfect opportunity to swim in this little corner of paradise. You leave early in the afternoon and sail peacefully to Filicudi, to moor at Pecorini a Mare. This small fishing village will seduce you with its culinary specialities, its cheerful atmosphere and the adventure stories of its sailors.

Day 6 - Filicudi – Vulcano
You will arrive the cave Bue Marino after a short navigation. Take some time to relax on the beach and to swim in the crystal blue water. Afterwards you will be sailing towards Vulcano (4h), one of the most fascinating islands of the archipelago. Its smoking crater creates a unique and particular atmosphere, its power and potential will tickle your senses. Don't miss the chance to climb to the top of the volcano (1h30) and see the hot mud baths which attract many visitors every year. Enjoy the sunset from the "Black Sand" beach.

Day 7 Vulcano – Lipari
In the morning you will be sailing along the west side of Volcano, looking for the natural Venu's pool filled with crystal clear water. Lunch will be served in front of the Valle Muria beach, situated in the west of Lipari. In the afternoon you will be passing along the south side of the island. Enjoy the brilliant view of the Faraglioni di Lipari. You will then spend your evening at the marina Lunga in Lipari. Enjoy your last dinner in the historical center of Lipari.

Day 8 – Lipari
Last breakfast on board before your disembarkation, which will take place just before 9am. You say goodbye to the crew and leave with memories in your head.

Important:

  • Since the eruptions in 2019, for safety reasons, it is no longer possible to climb to the top of the volcano above 300 metres.
  • During the summer season, the wind remains quite weak in the Aeolian Islands. Therefore, depending on the weather conditions, sailing can be done with a motor and not with a sail.
  • To ensure that the cruise takes place in the best possible conditions and in a friendly atmosphere, we ask each passenger to be open-minded.

    Globalement une très belle aventure humaine, absence de vent à cette période imposant une navigation au moteur pénalise un peu le repos. Des îles volcaniques extraordinaires qui imposent leur rythme : inaccessibilité du Stromboli ce qui est rassurant…..

    Grazie a Betty e Mauro che ci hanno accolto in casa loro, nella loro barca, e ci hanno fatti sentire come a casa nostra! La barca è confortevole, con 4 cabine ognuna con bagno privato (di cui una occupata dai padroni di casa). Questo vuol dire che gli ospiti sono solamente 6 alla volta: un sacco di spazio per tutti. Betty cucina piatti semplici ma gustosissimi, con l'aiuto di Mauro che deve approvare la cottura della pasta! E' sufficiente dare una mano a apparecchiare e sparecchiare, come in famiglia, perché Mauro condivida con voi un po' di dolcissima Malvasia Eoliana. Il tour può cambiare in base al tempo, ma Mauro farà comunque in modo di farvi vedere tutte le cale più belle delle isole, e di portarvi anche a cena nei migliori ristoranti. Simpaticissimi anche i ragazzi del pontile La Buona Fonda, sempre disponibili a tenervi le valigie mentre fate un giretto e aspettate di imbarcarvi. Altamente consigliato.

    POSITIF : -Une très chouette destination, la variété des paysages entre les différentes îles -Ascension du Stromboli de nuit ++ -Repas très bons à bord préparés par l'hôtesse -Bon choix de restaurant par le capitaine lors des escales -On nous a donné une cabine avant comme nous l'avions demandé NEGATIF : -Problème d'odeur au niveau des WC (dysfonctionnement du système de pompe) -Méduses nombreuses, l'un de nous a été piqué au dos.

Frequently asked questions

  • What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?
    If you wish to make a cancellation, you should contact your GlobeSailor advisor as soon as possible. Whatever the circumstances, you will be charged the following cancellation fees, depending on when the cancellation is made: up to 90 days before departure = 25%; 89 to 60 days before departure = 50%; 59 to 30 days before departure = 75%; 29 days or less before departure = 100% of the total cost of your booking. We recommend that you sign up for cancellation insurance with your personal insurance provider.

  • What does a skipper do? And what about a hostess?
    All the skippers which we offer are qualified, have the necessary professional licenses and speak fluent English. If you have any particular demands regarding a skipper make sure to let us know.
    The skipper is in charge of navigation and your safety on board. Feel free to try out some of the manoeuvres with him; he will be happy to teach you the basics of sailing.
    Regarding sleeping arrangements, the skipper will sleep on board, either in a cabin or in the common area (saloon).
    The skipper is not in charge of cooking or washing up. A hostess (or cook) will prepare your meals, clean the saloon area and the cabins and make sure the boat is kept tidy.

  • How can I arrange my transfer from the airport to the boat? What about provisioning?
    After you have made your booking the base manager will contact you to give you more information on your cruise. Make sure you confirm what time you will be arriving and also your flight details. A taxi or minibus can meet you at the airport and bring you directly to the boat.
    Provisioning and meals will be taken care of by your crew. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian etc…) make sure to let the base manager know.

  • What payments must I make in order to confirm my booking?
    To confirm your booking you should inform your GlobeSailor advisor who will put an option (hold) on the cabin for a certain time until we receive your down payment.
    The booking will only be considered final once we have received your down payment (by bank transfer, Paypal or credit card) which is 50% of the total amount. A 100% down payment is required for any booking made less than one month before departure.
    The balance should be paid no later than one month before boarding, either to the base or to GlobeSailor. Mandatory extras and options will be payable locally. Be sure to check with your advisor or the base prior to departure.
