The Ride of the ValkyriesDespite being late September the charter world was incredibly busy, with all charter boats apparently booked out. This meant that leaving the ACI marina was evocative of the scene in apocalypse now as all the US choppers headed out together. There were yachts and boats all headed for the Brac/ Salta gap. We played the Ride of the Valkyries just to mimic it. The boat was great but showed a little wear & tear. We visited ACI marinas in Milna, Verboska & Palmizana. All three were incredibly busy and the latter was party town with boats crammed in and very noisy. Picking out quieter bays for lunch was great for R&R, snorkelling & SUPs The base was great, check in & check out all ran smoothly.
Ionian SeaThe boat was in great shape and the staff were extremely helpful and professional.
Older boat, well maintained, great little marinaThe marina in the heart of Pula is a great starting point if you want to enjoy this great city at the beginning and the end of your charter. Small but clean and friendly. The Aventura is an older boat but well maintained and clean. We felt that we needed more ropes and a deck brush. these were quickly provided by the friendly staff in the nearby office. Just ask. The staff also provided helpful new information about the sailing area, even for me who sailed these waters five times previously. My only real criticism of the boat is her performance to windward. The reason in my opinion is partially the in mast furling mainsail design (can‘t be helped) and the age of the sails (could be helped) Overall; Great starting point, nice marina, comfortable boat.
